What if I told you prosecutors were doing this to poor folks in every single courtroom in the country?
The utter stupidity of pursuing a criminal trial against someone for throwing a sandwich that bounced off a bullet proof vest pissing away hundreds of thousands of dollars for this joke is the perfect encapsulation of this Administration.

Id like someone from this account to explain why they always highlight disingenuous right wingers as if it means something? Cheney was a deeply evil man who also happened to lie quite a bit to literally everyone.

"You hate Stalin so you must be an anticommunist" is truly peak online brainrot.

Someone quote tweeted and deleted before I could respond. Im really sorry for people who think you need to defend Stalin in order to defend communism. Stalin murdered Jews for being Jews. You can defend communist thought without rehabilitating a monster.
People literally posting Stalin memes in response and still think they aren't antisemitic

They lied to help pave the way into the illegal Iraq war and were cited in a Supreme Court decision *this year* that stripped civil rights from trans youth. This is hideous but isnt even top five of the worst things they've done.
I honestly don't think the NY Times has been this bad in my lifetime, it's deeply shameful.

We should never forget that this synagogue was targeted specifically because of their work with HIAS on refugee rights. Seven years later, we should honor their legacy by fighting antisemitism, but also by continuing to do the work of supporting refugee resettlement and migrant rights.
Seven years ago today, 11 Jewish people were murdered at the Tree of Life Congregation, a synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In their names, we will continue to stand up against hate, bigotry and the rise in antisemitism taking place around the country. May their memories be for a blessing.

Do you know how courrupt you have to be to upset a former Chicago prosecutor? The jurisdiction that allowed cops to literally torture Black men for confessions?
The ex-prosecutor also said this:

“I have a lot of close contacts in law enforcement, and almost to a person, none of them support these actions. As a lawyer, someone who adamantly believes in the rule of law, watching it in open sight in front of my house just be completely eroded…it’s upsetting.”

The Pod Save bros recently moved all of their operations to substack so they may feel extra sensitive to people finding nazism to be a deal breaker

Yet again I remind everyone The Hauge is a city and most of the international courts seated there have no jurisdiction over US actions because we arent a member.
This is a matter for The Hague

Remember folks. The original bluesky ethos by us bluesky elders (apparently I count?) is block and move on.

Don't quote dunk, don't pick fights.
Block, and move on.

This is what made this site unpalatable to the right early on, and we can continue to make it unpalatable to them.

Medical institutions treat trans people as a population to surveil, manage, and dissect, rather than as people to assist or treat with basic dignity.
Oslo University Hospital caught using trans patients' journals for research purposes:
- Without the patients' consent to participate in research
- Affecting minors
- 1700 of them
- Taking highly sensitive information from said journals

This is a HUGE breach.
Tidligere i år meldte vi et forskningsprosjekt til redelighetsutvalget ved OUS og UiO.

Nå er forskerne felt for alvorlige brudd på forskningsetiske normer.

Part of the reason we are here is that with each new atrocity we choose to normalize a past that wasn't normal. The DOJ has been targeting people and been political since day 1.
The legit DOJ started with a crime and asked "whodunnit."
The Trump/Bondi/Blanche DOJ starts with an enemy and asks "what-he-dun." (by @benjaminwittes.lawfaremedia.org & @annabower.bsky.social)

Answering the spam calls gets you marked as an active number which will increase the number of calls you get. But apparently it's just bad moral character.
my most unpopular opinion is that it's a sign of defective moral character if you point blank refuse to answer phone calls from unknown numbers. it's not that hard to hang up on spam/scammers, and you are probably missing important calls!
