This is something the Nazis used to do to Jewish children in the camps. It happened to a man I knew when he was a child in Auschwitz. The camp guards thought it was funny as hell.
On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

They have now removed the Pride flag from the Stonewall Inn.

Erasure. Just like the Nazis.

Federal Judges have a very real and well-established reason to fear doxing and violence and yet I doubt anyone thinks it would be acceptable for them to preside from the bench in a hood.

If a university student group had celebrated Charlie Kirk being killed, complete with a graphic made from an actual picture of the killing, the whole lot of them would have been expelled before the ink on the digital story was dry.

Again, there is one constitutional mechanism for solving problems like "The president threatens to nationalize & overturn valid elections." For the previous 45 presidents, it would have been used already. Everyone is just kidding themselves at this point & pretending there are other solutions.
👇🎯💯 This is the inescapable conclusion that <everyone> in 🇺🇸 politics & the entire national media cannot bring themselves to make. There is nothing Trump can do at this point to un-disqualify himself, & there are no laws Congress can pass to fix it.

The <only> mechanism is impeachment & removal.
The inescapable conclusion that neither the NYT nor WaPo editorial board can bring themselves to make is that this administration has to end. Its response to these killings—let alone the killings themselves—is obscene and totally disqualifying.

The thing I can’t figure is if Trump knows his taste is gaudy kitsch and he just enjoys inflicting it on Washington for the outraged reaction or if he genuinely believes Russia cornered the market on beauty.

Abolish ICE and fire all agents is the moderate position.
I just got tear gassed along with thousands of union members, many of whom had their families with them. Federal agents at the ICE facility tear gassed children. We must abolish ICE, DHS, and we must have prosecutions. I expect to see enforcement of our city code prohibiting the use of tear gas.

Hey, at least they’re not masked

Trump’s ICE goons: “Yes we did… We don’t need one.” 🤔

Rights are gone under this regime.

One of the hardest things to explain to people who aren’t here is the very real feeling that we are in a war against the federal government. Not only are we occupied by unaccountable armed, masked paramilitaries, but we are constantly aware our neighbors might be abducted in the blink of an eye.

You may be surprised to know that there's not a single provision in the US Constitution that is about domestic law enforcement.
Attorney General Pam Bondi: "Our country was founded on law enforcement"
Bondi: "It's extremely organized. The signs they have are all matching, they're well written. And look at what's happening today. How did these people go out & get gas masks? These protesters. Would you know how to walk out on the street and buy a gas mask? Think about that. We're not gonna have it"

Tl;dr: There are no other "fixes" anymore. This presidency needs to end. Now. And the longer we pretend that this isn't the actual, prescribed, "normal" constitutional mechanism & process for times like this, the longer we're going to find ourselves here on the precipice of full authoritarianism.
