I have a gas mask because I got tear gassed multiple times as a totally nonviolent observer and thought “not next time.” When you launch billowing clouds of tear gas in my city EVERY SINGLE DAY it’s not really rocket science.

This. I am done returning to the status quo of what got us here. I want universal healthcare. I want a maximum wage tied to the minimum wage. I want omnipresent, cheap public transit and walkable neighborhoods. I want Supreme Court and police reform, and I want the rich to pay their fair share.
We need to pick up this Overton Window and throw it as far as we can. Stop waiting for shit to “be popular” and start advocating for what is transparently right.

This excuse is getting tiresome. As an elected official, it’s your duty to inform your constituents if this is the case. Rip the fucking band-aid off now, conditions aren’t going to improve.
I think the reason we have not seen Frey, Her, and Walz change their orientations on exercising the use of state policing power to repel the federal occupation is that to do so would be to admit the State Patrol, National Guard, MPD, SPPD, et al., are de facto not actually under their command.

One thing I didn't fully appreciate until I sat on a jury and reviewed body cam footage for myself, is how cops yell contradictory instructions at people like "Don't move" "Put your hands up" "Get the fuck out of here" "Keep your hands where I can see them" etc. all screamed at your face with guns
