Portland, OR mayor Keith Wilson responding to public demands that ICE's land use permit be rescinded after they gassed thousands of peaceful men women and children.

Kinda curious what "the course" we should stay is here, Keith? Watching ICE gas, abduct and sometimes shoot our neighbors?

production of The Muppet Show should not be dependent on petty vulgarities like “ratings” or “revenue.” it should be preserved as a vital function of american culture. it should have a taxpayer-funded budget rivaling the CIA

ICE has killed 9 folks in the first 26 days of ‘26:

• Alex Pretti
• Renee Good
• Keith Porter
• Heber Sanchaz Domínguez
• Victor Manuel Diaz
• Parady La
• Luis Beltran Yanez-Cruz
• Luis Gustavo Nunez Caceres
• Geraldo Lunas Campos

They all deserve justice. And for us to remember their names.

Directly, Mr. Rogers said "look for the helpers" to comfort CHILDREN seeing the horrors of a deadly disaster. If you're an adult, you need to BE the helpers. The children look to you, and they need to see you act. Children are helpless, WE are not. We must help.
When Mr. Rogers said “look for the helpers” he meant also in ourselves

All the anti-war and anti-occupation protestors were right. All the far leftists were right. All the “woke scolds” and your friend who’s “too woke” were right. They were somehow even more right than they may have realized at the time. But really, it was always obvious they were right.

All the traits that you have been taught to value and look for in special individuals - courage, intelligence, strength - are actually collective traits. There is no genius or hero coming to save us from our problems. We solve them together or not at all. Socialism or barbarism.
I have never witnessed such a spiderweb of collective action, just average everyday people showing up. Not the heroism we’ve been sold by the movies but collective heroism, a fabric of care and resistance to fascism.

again. even if you think a violent resistance is right in this circumstance (I absolutely don’t), a violent resistance would (1) cost *more* innocent lives; (2) take decades to even erode the coercive capacity of the federal government; (3) make pathways to a stable and just democracy much harder
Nonviolence is, in fact, working. This administration is weaker than it was a year ago. More and more of the public is becoming galvanized against it; its agents are being impeded.
Do you honestly think people in the civil rights movement and other nonviolent movements faced no violence themselves? They practiced nonviolence because it works, because the oppressor wants a shooting war, which is the war it will win

this is a small thing but it would be nice to feel good about paying taxes. i would like to write a check to the government and think about kids going to school and freshly paved roads not all the death squads my income helps fund.
The Trump-Vance administration just used your taxes to pay for ICE agents to kill a 37-year-old nurse, who was only there because another ICE agent killed a 37-year-old mother of three, who was only there because ICE agents are kidnapping your neighbors

Everyone protesting in Minnesota has been risking being murdered.

The rest of us Americans can make some fucking phone calls.

That goes for those with Repub senators as well as those of us with Dem senators. All of them.
We are calling our senators right now and demanding that they vote no on the omnibus with DHS funding

We are explicitly mentioning ICE’s murder in cold blood of a man on the streets of Minneapolis this morning

men will unironically say they can't be friends with someone they might want to fuck, avoid any intimacy with their male friends because it might be gay, then complain about a loneliness epidemic
My favorite thing dumb guys used to ask all the time was “can men and women ever *really* be friends?” Wild skill issue.

Every time I go to Walmart I have to pass a billboard for a testosterone replacement clinic that says YOU'VE GOT TO FIX YOU and take psychic damage. HRT! But only for conformity and gender enforcement, to Be Fixed.
If you tell cis people they have their own methods of afirming their gender, they get mad enough to swallow you whole like an anaconda.

As far as I am concerned, cis people work exactly as hard, if not moreso, than we do at this task.
A guy on Reddit was saying a bar is “for groomers” because it has drag shows and I pulled up his profile and saw he was posting about getting T injections and now he’s mad I keep referring to his gender affirming care as such.

Journalists often go on hand-fed ride-alongs with agents.

Seldom, though, do they get into the cars of everyday people protecting their communities from those same agents.

We just did exactly that, in ICE-occupied Minneapolis:
