Should probably do an "introductory" thread:

I work as a software developer, now for a company in London, but I live in a village in Fife, Scotland. Technically I've been on BlueSky for a bit over a year already but have only fully committed to the move since the US elected Trump for a second time.

The Earth’s core has more power than humanity could ever use.

Clean heat, clean power, and even UK-sourced lithium to reduce our dependency on China.

The tech hurdles are big, but the payoff is bigger and Cornwall is showing the way
Unlimited energy: reaching for the heat beneath our feet
Deep below us, is a vast untapped source of sustainable energy waiting to be released. Slowly, we are finding ways to tap into it

Right, now I know I’m getting old, clearly remember when the Keiller Centre opened. What I could never clearly remember was which direction I was going in. The disorientation of shopping offset, however, by the excitement of not knowing where you were going to exit.

The Keiller Centre in Dundee has finally shut its doors to shoppers after 46 years. Opened in November 1979 on the site of the old Keiller factory behind High Street it provided a maze of shops & business under one roof contributing to a unique experience & many memories.

Blindingly obvious and exactly what I said to the New York Times at the time. So the question is, why did the useless British media carry, hysterically, coverage of a UK (Not Very Good) Lawyers for Israel press release? www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

We're not supposed to be this angry every waking minute.
We're not supposed to live a life in stasis, waiting for the next Truly Fucked Up Thing to occur.
These "Current Times" are not normal, they are engineered by the sycophants & henchpepople of psychotic dictators.
Do not accept any of it.

If it was anybody else, the discovery of a letter from one convicted paedophile to another convicted paedophile, saying, "Hey, remember that friend of ours who we watched definitely being a paedophile," would result in an immediate arrest.

Your move, America.

Tr*mp keeps renaming American icons after himself. He’s just writing graffiti. He must know they’ll all be renamed and his name erased the moment he’s gone, just like painting over the scrawls on the sides of subway cars.

The BBC keep saying, presumably on (extremely risk averse) legal advice, that the emails “do not indicate wrongdoing”.
On the contrary. They may not absolutely prove it but in context they most definitely point towards it.

Are corporate social media posts about pride the most important part of building an inclusive society? Of course not.

But is a 92% reduction in them a worrying sign? Almost certainly:

Defending concentration camps will be Bari Weiss's legacy.
These are concentration camps. No other way to describe them. Truly horrific, and none of it surprising in the least.
30 minutes. Some deportees described sexual assault. Detainee describes the guard sexually assaulting most detainees. Lights left on all day. Prisoners not given clean water.

Now the DHS tour. Nobody spoke to the detainees. Noem's video was in a different area of the prison.
