Former MP, former Supreme Allied Commander #WarOnTheCountryside, above average satirical photoshopper & senior advisor to Sir Keir Starmer before he became unpopular
If I was running the Beeb I'd be happy to defend Panorama against Trump in court on the basis that nobody even watches it these days.

Michael Prescott's report makes vital points about the importance of being accurate, and also how difficult that is. For instance, he describes himself as having been Political Editor of the Sunday Times for 10 years, which is not what the Guardian reported when he left the job.

I'm so old I remember PEx starting out as a Cameroon, liberal Tory, modernising think tank. It's a funny old world, as Lady Thatcher once said.

Loving today's news that the mysterious "fedora man" outside the Louvre heist was actually a 15-year-old museum visitor who dresses like a 1940s French detective all the time, just because. apnews.com/article/louv...

It will never not be funny that Truss is going to spend more time doing “stuff you have to do as a former PM” than she spent as actually being PM.

She was PM for 1176 hours. With the Queen’s funeral, the Coronation, three Remembrance Sundays (there’s a lunch) she’s up to about 48 already.

Without DEI, we would only make merit-based hires, like the genius strategist who decided to pick a fight with his boss’s new young wife.
Dominic Cummings has this racialised take on David Lammy

There is an increasingly prevalent kneejerk online rightwing trait to call the presence of any black or Asian person a diversity hire

Going down a rabbit hole of mistaken prison releases. They've definitely got up recently, but between 40 and 115 offenders were incorrectly released *every year* from 2011 to 2024 (so over 800 while the Tories were in government).

It just doesn't normally make the news

How many prisoners are released by mistake?
Politicians and the public have reacted with fury after it emerged a second and third prisoner had been released in error from HMP Wandsworth - but it's not as rare as some might think.
