Against the advice of basically every review I read and my own better judgement, I'm watching JURASSIC WORLD REBIRTH (2025).
This shit, very unsurprisingly, fucking sucks.
Like it's got a little juice occasionally (when it leans towards horror) but this first action setpiece was garbage.

The Clone Wars and Rebels are both very good shows but I can tell you after finishing TCW and starting Rebels, there was something truly thrilling about returning to the iconography of the OT. I think that is a LOT of the explanation for why people overrate Rogue One.

I think the Battle of Scarif is one of the best sequences in the franchise and that papers over the fact that there are about 100 problems with what comes before.
Also: the film looks really good, like, better than anything had since Return of the Jedi, and that matters to people.

rogue one is bad folks. i have believed this since i saw it in theaters and no subsequent rewatch has changed my mind. basically a chop job until the final sequence, which is good (for star wars)
