it's almost more annoying that this movie isn't COMPLETELY juiceless. It's MOSTLY juiceless, and every once in awhile there's a sequence that makes you think about what might've been.

The number of her lines that she just kinda "says" is wild.
Also, I'm noticing SO much ADR. She shares a whole scene on the boat, early on, with Mahershala that seems like it was probably 80% written in post.

For the folks here recommending Erik Larson's In The Garden of Beasts, I have to recommend Our Man In Charleston by Christopher Dickey. It's the story of a British diplomat living in the antebellum South on the eve of war.
