Bang in the middle there, the magnificent Thom Building - only an earthquake will take it down (or the car engines they tested in the basement) as they'd never get planning permission to build again that high!
Here's a #HigherEducationPostcard of @ox.ac.uk - or at least a good proportion of its colleges and facilities

I'm old enough to remember when the leader of Canada's official opposition party congratulated Trump for invading a country last week.

Open night at the art museum but the 3yo wanted to play Batman, so we told him Joker was planning to rob the museum and he needed to investigate clues. He got so into it that he walked around with his lil notebook carefully documenting art he thought Joker might steal. Baby’s first museum sketching!

Super Surprise

My son's Lego Superman joined me on my journey to work today.

Sometimes I'll put my hands in my coat pocket & will be rewarded with a random toy that I'll have no idea how it got there. However, Superman was a pleasant surprise so I made him fly on the escalator!

Many, many lives ago I had an interview in this building when it was the History Faculty. I thought it was going well, until half way through one of the panel just got up and walked out...

The Second-Order Streisand Effect is a social phenomenon where if a party makes an effort to censor information, discussion and news about the censorship paradoxically leads to an increased awareness of Barbara Streisand, a musician whom most "Zoomers" would probably have otherwise never heard of

Who has four paws and is working hard to ruin Christmas, one scavenged chocolate orange at a time? This idiot. Bonus points for staging the scene to make it look like a stuffed toy did it.

I'm watching The Wrong Trousers and it's bonkers to watch it now, since a provincial museum in the north of England in an animation from 1993 has better security than the Louvre.

Can't remember if it's in the film it, but it IS a Christmas novel.

Whole thing is set around Christmas, and Ryan worrying about not making it back home to Britain in time to spend it with his daughter.

There's even a minor subplot about him trying to buy a particular barbie she's asked Santa for.
Oddly enough, “The Hunt for Red October” always feels weirdly Christmassy to me.
You can bet that I’ll be watching Master & Commander again at some point over Christmas - not because it’s particularly Christmassy (it isn’t) but because it’s perfect and I love it… and one must always choose the lesser of two weevils
