Heavy-metal concerts aren’t typically bastions of progressivism—but in the mosh pit, a savage empathy abides, James Parker reports:
The Savage Empathy of the Mosh Pit
The frontmen are demagogues, the crowds are fanatical, and yet a rugged compassion abides

Sam Altman: hey I made a machine that stole literally all your stuff in order to make CSAM of your child actors, sometimes it encourages people to kill themselves

Disney: Holy shit here's a billion dollars

Altman: the machine loses more than that each week but thank you. Soon it will become god.

“What most struck me is the brutality and physical violence involved in every story,” said Sen. Richard Blumenthal. “This is stuff that should be unrecognizable as America. It should make everyday Americans outraged.”

Well, there it is. Sinclair is digging in for a fight, so please help push back -- find stations in your area, watch their local news to see what ads they run, then write those advertisers to tell them you're boycotting as long as they're on a Sinclair station.

Heretic is a fun movie for many reasons, among them the realistic threat of every academic’s inner desire to imprison random people in their home and forcibly subject them to a particular PowerPoint presentation they’ve been working on for several years.

There will be an all-out media & financial assault on Mamdani if he takes office. When Salvador Allende was president of Chile, Nixon said the US had to "make the economy scream." Something similar will happen to NY in a collaboration between Trump & Dems. bsky.app/profile/schw...
I don't think people understand how ferocious the opposition to Mamdani will be if he's mayor. Republican & Democratic power brokers will unite to crush him & punish NYers for voting for him. They cannot allow someone with his positions to be a success & inspiration.

“Someday, I hope, we’re going to have a reckoning over the horrors of this moment, but I don’t think we can do it without a clearer understanding of how this fits into U.S. history. There’s a tendency to say, “This isn’t who we are,” and I get the impulse, but history is never that simple.”

From David M. Perry: From Minnesota’s Fort Snelling to Japanese internment camps to Florida's Alligator Alcatraz, these camps have become an American tradition.

You should care about homeless ppl b/c they are ppl, and most folks are closer to living outside than they are to being a billionaire.

But if that's not enough, care about them b/c how gov't treats them says volumes abt us.

Care b/c the cruelty won't stop with homeless folks.

it is a weird feeling to watch the execrable Tucker Carlson do his thing and suddenly understand what the people who like him are seeing. He does this eyes-to-the-camera thing here after he's forced an error and if you really, really hate Ted Cruz, you cannot deny the rush
WATCH: “You’re a U.S. senator and you don’t know anything about the country you want to topple.”
