I do not know off the top of head what is in the oath an incoming government makes to the Governor General, but it seems like passing legislation you actually think is bad should be some kind of breach of it

Doctors and parents should make decisions about what is best for their kids health - not politicians. The Government has said doctors cannot give new prescriptions of puberty blockers to children who are suffering from gender dysphoria. That is putting kids at risk.

So true - the South Island tax - either crossing goods from manufacturing in the North or vise versa - the short termism small saving choice by Nicky no boats will be paid repeatedly on cost of construction & travel for generations.
So “the taxpayer” has allegedly been saved a few billion $, but everyone who travels by ferry and who relies on inter-island freight will just have to pay more for that

New paper on the fatal consequences of job loss using 🇫🇮 administrative data: "For every 100,000 displaced men, there are 1,100 additional deaths. 60% accrue to the displaced worker, 40% are due to excess spousal mortality.. no such dire consequences are observed after a woman’s job loss"

More than that, countries broadly following the (Nordic) Social Democratic model are at or very near the top of practically every measurement of societal achievement _ever devised_.
All measurements have issues and any one statistic could be flawed.
