Just asking for the class, was that *before* or *after* he condemned an entire generation to die horribly from AIDS while he obliterated all the union protections that kept the rich from exploiting everyone? I’ll hang up and listen.
The presidency once served as a reminder of our common humanity. Ronald Reagan described its purpose as building "a nation composed of good and decent people."

This tracks with my experience. DHS made up stories like this in Chicago, too. Every story ICE told about being attacked by community members was debunked in court. To assume anything they say is even potentially credible is irresponsible and out of touch with reality.
Re: the ICE actions in south Minneapolis Monday. DHS said "rioters" attacked officers with rocks and pepper spray. Note: I received lots of evidence and didn't see any rocks, the only pepper spray I saw was ICE agents sometimes spraying each other. I did see snow and possibly ice being thrown. (1)

One of the things that you see at the International Civil Rights Center & Museum in Greensboro, North Carolina is a Jim Crow era Coke machine that was designed to fit into a segregated bus station. One machine two sides.

The Coke cost more on the Black side.
Amazing how many articles are just “I’m a white guy who didn’t get the promotion I wanted and the only answer to this problem that concerns every single one of us is to re-segregate the workplace”

One of my least favorite parts of Hollywood is that while it's an industry famous for douchebag screamers, almost everyone who *isn't* a screamer is so conflict-avoidant that lying "you didn't get the job b/c diversity" is preferable to saying "you weren't a good fit"/"you weren't up to par."

Minneapolis has FIFTY YEARS of inclusive laws protecting trans people, allowing them to self-identify, and ZERO cases of trans people attacking women in the bathroom. ZERO. Over FIFTY YEARS.
The narrative is that trans people will harm and harass people in the bathroom, but it almost always is actually like this case where the aggressor is the transphobe confronting the trans person. It's ridiculous. They want to kick "undesirables" out from public life entirely, if they could.

This is just one example, but this story is the perfect example of why mediocre white guys are against DEI and this is the “American Dream” they’re trying to preserve. This is the “western culture” they want to protect, and anti-discrimination laws and policies destroy that.

One reason the GOP is repeatedly terrible at managing the economy is that they believe public sector jobs aren’t real jobs, & they demonize/defund the govt - at both the state & federal levels - every time they hold power. Only difference this time is how wildly illegally they’ve done it via DOGE.
Federal government employment is down more than 270k since the start of the year amidst DOGE cuts—that's nearly 9% of the Fed workforce

The large drops in recent months are caused by many workers who've been on deferred resignation becoming officially unemployed

Every time: see how confidently wrong AI is when describing unimportant things (like cartoon details).
Now imagine relying on AI for *important* things.

People don't grasp how wrong AI is about things *entirely because they're asking it about things they don't know*.

How reliable is AI?

I recalled a funny review of Warners' THE DAY THE EARTH BLEW UP that analyzed how Mrs. Grecht, Porky's landlady, compared to the "Karen" stereotype.

I googled keywords to find it.

Google's AI hallucinated a new character named Karen and gave most of Petunia's role to her.

I think one of the reasons why people are angry at this objectively true statement (aside from “they’re racist”) is that people still want to believe that the internet is inherently egalitarian and video is about as far as you can get from an egalitarian medium
i have said this before but if you are actually interested in influencing people beyond a narrow circle of too-online journalists you will be making direct to camera videos on tiktok, instagram and youtube. if you primarily post on text-based social media then you're just dicking around.

Remember, Mr. Rogers' original comment was intended for CHILDREN. Children need comfort, and their power is obviously very limited.

We're adults. We do need comfort, but we also need to take action. And what you'll find is the more you do, the better you'll feel. Look for the helpers and join them.
An important addendum to "look for the helpers" is "and then join them."
