People are right to be incensed, but there are more names to uplift. ICE killed an immigrant man named Silverio Villegas González in Chicagoland. He had children. Victor Manuel Diaz was kidnapped in Minneapolis and died in ICE custody on January 14. Their names deserve to be repeated, too.

I am a student at Brown in communication with a friend at RIBC.

There is an urgent need for blood donations to support RI. Donations in NY, NJ, MN, NB, DE or NJ can help supply RI.

Spread the word.

Heads-up to anyone who got a measles vaccine as a child: You can get a titer test to make sure you still have immunity! My doctor suggested this a few months ago, and I needed another shot. Vaccines are good!
If only there was a safe, cheap and effective way to halt its spread.
The measles outbreak in South Carolina is “accelerating” with no end in sight following Thanksgiving and other large gatherings, state health officials say.

Alice Wong taught us that disabled people don’t just leave memories behind—they leave infrastructure. Lineages of care. Methods of collectivity, survival. She named the connective tissue that holds our communities together, even across death, even across the losses that come too fast and too often.

The depth of the shame of a country this wealthy and abundant allowing its people to go hungry is impossible to measure. The fact that a handful of people could fix this by paying their fair share of taxes while still remaining obscenely wealthy makes it even worse.

I want more people to care that SNAP benefits are being cut off on November 1. 40% of SNAP beneficiaries are children. This is callous and vile.

The playbook is Palestine. Always been. If the fascists can convince you to look away, to stay quiet, to weigh the odds, to hesitate on speaking up -- about literal genocide -- the fascists can get away with anything.

All they have to do is lie loudly, retract quietly, and do crimes relentlessly.

Before the Nazis engaged in mass murder of Jews, they did mass murder of people with mental illness and disabilities.

When you’re asked to consider disability justice, it’s never “instead of” a different cause.

It’s a call to support every justice movement deeply & effectively.

Climate change, capitalism, fascism, racism, transphobia, sexism, genocide, &c are disabling. They want to disable those who resist, too.

“If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.”

A classic quote from Malcolm X, who was assassinated 60 years ago today.

My gynecologist really went "So you haven't bothered to look into EDS?" when I told her I didn't have a diagnosis today. 🫠

I went to a new doctor yesterday and he started the appointment with “I have all your notes and records and imaging and I reviewed them, but I want to hear from YOU what’s going on.” This is how to make patients feel seen and heard!
