Reagan kicked off his 1980 campaign with a speech on 'state's rights' at the Neshoba County Fair in Neshoba, MS, where civil rights workers Mickey Schwerner, Andrew Goodman, and James Cheney were murdered by the Klan in 1964.
The presidency once served as a reminder of our common humanity. Ronald Reagan described its purpose as building "a nation composed of good and decent people."

Has anyone considered that maybe he's mistaken it for Panama? He's threatened to invade so many places for their resources he's bound to get a few mixed up eventually.
I’d also like to point out that you cannot surround Venezuela with an armada.
Trump: "Venezuela is completely surrounded by the largest Armada ever assembled ... It will only get bigger, and the shock to them will be like nothing they have ever seen before — Until such time as they return to the USA all of the Oil, Land, and other Assets that they previously stole from us."

A.R. Moxon gets it. As a social worker, it’s sickening to see the abusive tactics I’ve seen in families at the micro level be deployed at the macro level.
I began answering the common question "How do we stop abuse without becoming abusive ourselves?"

Point 1: "What is it about stopping abuse that you think puts us in such danger of becoming abusive that it is the first question you ask in response to the call to do so?"

If you’ve heard the “the Nazis got their ideas from the US segregationists” I beg you to please stop. This is both false and it minimizes historical European antisemitism in a misguided attempt to emphasize the nature of US anti-Black racism.

It’s horrific without comparison to Nazism.
May I politely encourage you to reconsider this framing. It is inaccurately stated and suggests consistent and strong linkages that do not exist.

The Nazis did not “get their ideas” from confederate laws. Antisemitism and anti-Jewish laws existed in Europe long before the Confederacy…

It gets people in housing, and it saves the state money. We know this. It's fact, not theory.
An Oregon pilot program giving cash to homeless youths sees a staggering reduction in homelessness. The program gave participants $1,000 cash payments each month for two years, and at the end of the project's first phase, 91% of participants reported being in stable housing.

I've never had a trans woman tell me to get back in the kitchen, or make a "joke" about how women shouldn't be allowed to vote. I've never seen trans women outside the planned parenthood calling women murderers and whores. trans women have never dogged me out for incorrectly performing femininity

To my mind, I think the core of the problem is that greater - if still imperfect - gender equality allowed women access to more 'life scripts' as it were, but society mostly still presents men with just one script and that script poorly and incompletely.

So some men are fine and many are adrift.
