This week, I withdrew from a speaking engagement at a public university because they sent me a list of prohibited “words & concepts.” I will not humor this censorship. It does a disservice to the stories I’m discussing & the audience, who deserve unfettered access to information & conversation.

I really can't stress how important it is for progressive and leftists to contend for school, library, water, etc etc boards. Hyper local involvement in our communities where we can actually influence lives.

Yes. I’m a pretty open educator - I try new things, integrate tech, attempt to adjust my practice so that kids reap benefits of new things - but I hate it. I hate that it’s a thing that will take the place of student ability to think & communicate. It’s a controlling, manipulative, capitalist tech.
It definitely feels like the "AI conversation" is about to become the "AI mandate" before we really even began the conversation, huh?
