It’s rational to feel distressed, to recognize the insanity of what we are living through, and to rage against this diabolical machine. History teaches us we are obliged to use our platforms, knowledge, and voices to speak out loudly and boldly. It also teaches us that we are complicit if we do not.

We have people being fired for standing up against racist, bigoted dialogue. We have churches championing hate. This is a dangerous time, lorded over by evil players. Pretending life is okay or acceptable is not normal.
maryrosewood.bsky.social
Nothing is normal. People are being disappeared. Kids are being hidden like Anne Frank. Journalists are being arrested. We have concentration camps. We’ve got an unintellectual administration supporting ideas like “circumcision causes autism” and enabling the destruction of the education department.
maryrosewood.bsky.social
I’m not out here pretending that’s life normal. And I’m certainly not going to stop highlighting the dangerous, hateful, and fascist problems our country is facing. I’m in no kumbaya space of time where I have a delusional belief everything will be okay if we just go on about life as normal.

I heard earlier on this rainy Sunday someone scoffed at my social media posts as being a daily dose of political conjecture. Mind you, this is my articulation. The source of the scoffing wouldn’t be smart enough to use such language. And, yeah, they aren’t wrong.

🧵⬇️ Gift article. CO lawsuit filed. The lawsuit was filed by the ACLU of Colorado and local attorneys. It challenges ICE arrest practices that have surged this year, and it asks a federal judge to rule that those practices are illegal and order ICE to stop.

Colorado lawsuit challenges legal basis of many ICE arrests of immigrants this year
“ICE … is pulling people out of their cars, taking people from their apartments, taking people from the street, all in flagrant violation of federal law,” an ACLU lawyer alleged.

It's Sunday my "antifa" adjacent friends!!

That means we've survived another week of physically and mentally weak people who think they're "alpha" everything. They are not🤣

Today's giggle is from the fabulous duo of Tina Fey & Amy Pohler playing Noem & Bondi.

Stay safe y'all!

Comey is not innocent of some of the things he did 9 years ago. We know that.
However, he is innocent of the charges that are being filed against him NOW.
Trump pressured Comey & when he wouldn't be Trump's fetching dog Trump fired him.
This is retribution because Comey didn't obey Trump.

JORDAN: Comey is where weaponization all started. 9 years ago he took the dossier--

BASH: But that's not what he's being prosecuted for

JORDAN: I'm just saying, you want to talk about weaponization, that's where it started

BASH: So this is retribution then

Fanny Cäcilie Mendelssohn Bartholdy (November 14, 1805) was born in Hamburg, Germany. She was the eldest child in a culturally affluent family. From a young age, Fanny received thorough musical instruction—first at home, then from teachers such as Ludwig Berger and Carl Friedrich Zelter; her younger brother Felix Mendelssohn shared much of her education.

Fanny was a prolific composer, producing over 450 works, including Lieder (art songs), piano pieces, chamber music, four cantatas, an orchestral overture, a piano trio and quartet, among others. Despite her talent, much of her music remained unpublished in her lifetime, and societal norms often constrained her public role as a musician. At times, works by her were published under her brother’s name.

In 1829, Fanny married Wilhelm Hensel, a court painter. The marriage did not curb her musical output—she continued to compose and also hosted “Sunday concerts” (Sonntagsmusiken) at her home in Berlin, inviting friends, extended family and musical peers.

She died from a stroke on May 14, 1847 in Berlin; she was 41. Her brother Felix died less than six months later.
After her death, much of her music was either unpublished or wrongly attributed, but in recent decades there has been growing scholarship and performance of her work. In 2018, the Fanny & Felix Mendelssohn Museum opened in Hamburg to honor both siblings and their musical contributions.

In case you didn’t know-
DHS is always at the Super Bowl. DHS is in charge of protecting big events like this from acts of terrorism.
This is not new, but DHS & MAGA are spreading propaganda about ICE being at the Super Bowl to cause fear & chaos. This is what fascists do.

The Trump administration is completely inept.
There’s no way any of these people should be in charge of anything.
It’s just ridiculous already.
We need a clean sweep. Fire every Republican. Seriously. They’re getting people killed.
