DOJ investigating whether Denmark lied on its Greenland mortgage.

If we can defend this land from Russia and China and Denmark can't, and that's why we need it, ...

1. Article 5 is dead. We're already legally obligated to defend it against Russia and China!

2. We could just declare we'll defend it on Denmark's behalf.

This is all just so nonsensical.
Trump just placed a tariff on most of the EU of 10% that will increase to 25% in June unless they agree to sell him Greenland.

This is mad king shit.

After the Nazis lost, most of their grassroots supporters did some combination of 1. adopting a victimized posture, "I suffered from the Allied attacks," 2. being quiet without changing beliefs, 3. scapegoating other Nazis for failure but continuing to venerate Hitler.

Road ahead ain't pretty.

You can criticize them 2 minutes before you vote for them, as far as I'm concerned.

We've had enough tribalism. We need to be able to discuss when someone on our team does something wrong.

And it's also wrong that it's apostasy to point out when someone on the other team does something right!
PSA: I have voted for, donated to, and advocated for every Democratic nominee in every national and state election since I turned 18 and will continue to do so.

I also have the total right to criticize prospective candidates years before primaries even occur.

Enjoyed the BBC's 2005 adaptation of Bleak House a great deal. Just watching Frankenstein (2025) and pretty much as soon as her started talking, I said "is that Tulkinghorn?"

I guess @politico.com has decided we're just going to report neutrally on the competing claims about January 6 without noting that one side's claims are completely false.

Worth reading in full.

Two people who have been very sober, mainstream voices with unmatched, real, lived experience in this political system.

They don't discuss compromise, even though that was fundamental to the eat both of them approached their careers.

Fighting is all that's left.
The letter from Bill and Hillary Clinton to James Comer explaining their refusal to testify in his Epstein investigation is really remarkable, not like any letter of this genre I've seen. It's signed by them, not a lawyer, and the arguments are not legal ones. Reprinted from their X account:

I feel rage. But what can we do? Build local infrastructure. Prepare your community to resist.
You and your wife drop your 6-year-old off at school. You just moved here. You see ICE terrorizing your new neighbors. You film them, as is your legal right. Your wife complies with orders. She is then shot in the head. You still have to pick up your child later today.

This could be you.

It is irresponsible to lead with what federal authorities say.

You're making yourself a vector for the spread of disinformation and propaganda.

Be truth-seekers, not mouthpieces.
Federal authorities say an ICE agent, “fearing for his his life” killed a protester during a confrontation Wednesday in south Minneapolis. A presence of federal law enforcement has sparked protesting near East 34th Street and Portland Avenue.

Oh, society cares about sexual violence. But many members of society care only about sexual violence directed at their own families.

This anxiety has been used to fuel anti-gay (what if they "recruit" my kid?) and anti-trans (bathrooms!) panic for decades.
maybe I'm just jaded from spending my entire adult life watching sexual abuse committed with impunity, but i dont think X will suffer any consequences.

society likes to pretend it cares about sexual violence, but actually doesn't.
X basically industrialized the creation of fake porn of women who don't consent. Others did it first, but Grok made it normalized and centralized: publicly visible, instantly creatable by anyone, regardless of who's being targeted and dehumanized. Only question now is will X suffer any consequences

one takeaway from the grok noncon porn thing is that much of the media just isn't interested in an issue they can't pretend has two sides or that doesn't give them an opportunity to shit on the left. Also it would be uncomfortable to justify remaining on twitter after acknowledging it
