I am skeptical of the CPSC's timing. These batteries have been on the market for years.

Of course the Trump government wants you to stop using your E-Bike.

BTW, I called this bsky.app/profile/sund...

Thinks a tremendous program of bike lane data collection and evaluation. Maybe the best of any city governments in the US.
The latest evaluation of bike lane projects in Boston continues to show that if you build bike infrastructure, people will use it.

This comment was posted on a letter to the editor about bike lanes.

"no one with a disability, injury, age related changes, or small children is going to not use a car. Those groups all need clear streets and access to good parking close to their destination. "

Lots of buzz about the "affordability agenda," and how we get there.

Well, this is it. Housing and transport are most of the cost of living for most people. We can make it expensive, or we can make it affordable.

No car? No problem. Building apartments near public transit could help address the housing crisis
Quantavia Smith, who was often homeless for a decade, now has a studio apartment in Los Angeles with easy access to public transit.

Thanks to @thebeacon.bsky.social for covering this issue and quoting me on my concern that underinvestment in our regional transit agencies leaves them scrambling when the local World Cup organizing committee can't or won't fund expanded bus service to meet the demand their event will generate.
“That is the problem with major events like the World Cup, like the Olympics, like the DNC or the RNC… They’re pitching this as a positive economic impact. And in the end, it’s the local governments that pick up the bill often, and it’s the local residents who are impacted by it.”
As World Cup demands loom, transit leaders face hard decisions to pay for extra bus service
Kansas City has been asking the state and federal government for financial help to pay for extra buses during the World Cup. The clock is ticking, and the transit agency hasn’t gotten a dime.
