One of the bluest State House districts currently held by the Minnesota GOP isn't in the MSP metro, it's in the Duluth area!

The GOP won #HD3B last year by 0.6%, despite Harris carrying it for President by four points and Amy Klobuchar winning it by 18!

If someone’s not mourning the death of Robert Redford in a manner that’s consistent with your views, make sure you set up a database, call their employer, and get them fired.

Views on Keir Starmer:

- Just 26% of Labour members hold a favourable opinion of Starmer as Labour Leader
- 59% view him unfavourably, with 15% neither favourable nor unfavourable

Members unhappy with Starmer overwhelmingly back Powell, while Phillipson relies on those with a favourable view

Well I’m sure the ministers who went out to defend him earlier this morning are feeling a lot of job satisfaction right now.
Mandelson has been fired. Confirmed.

kirk was important enough of a figure in the internet-poisoned US right that i get why everyone up to trump is kicking into high gear about it, but there's no reason for it to take off in the UK. yeah, its horrifying that the US is just wracked with political violence now, but this isnt the start!

i am trying to be a bit more on bsky so i'm also moving my filmposting over here. i'm about a year late on this take but i think i understand Longlegs more now that i've watched Osgood Perkins' 2015 debut film, The Blackcoat's Daughter, which had some noticeable thematic/creative choice similarities

It seems the pro-Israel consensus among Democrats is well and truly dead at this point. Dem primary voters prefer candidates who refuse to travel to Israel (by net +45%) and back a bill to end military aid to Israel (by net +61%). www.filesforprogress.org/datasets/202...

pretty niche map, parish-level results for the 1837 by-election, general election and 1841 general election in the Westminster constituency. subdivision results for uk elections is ridiculously scarce so this is a pretty rare type of map

underpriced factor in Gladstone's conversion to Home Rule is Peel's role. Gladstone was a devotee of Peel the vast majority of his political life, and reading Peel's biography highlighted how part of his thinking to endorse Catholic emancipation was a utilitarian decision, betting that Catholics...

its nowhere near as horrifying as the many other ramifications of the trump administration's immigration policy, but have they really not considered the effect this will have on the world cup? the olympics? all tourism? 'the message is to shock and horrify people' - message received loud and clear!
They plan to send 800 Europeans to Guantanamo specifically to “shock and horrify people.”

This is only especially shocking and horrifying (they are sending more than 8K others as well!) if the entire logic of your citizenship regime is that white people deserve rights and everyone else doesn’t.
