This is why millennials scrutinize everything on the internet because we were told it wasn't a valid source of information.
I know we weren’t allowed to cite Google, Wikipedia, or anything that wasn’t a book or scholarly journal when doing research in school. I’m also told academia has since relaxed on that sort of thing. Put the babies back on JSTOR.

i feel like actually being able to still google and find accurate data now is a skill. before it broke, you could just type whatever you needed and the most relevant info would populate. NOW? you really have to go thru 3-4-5 pages to find the good stuff.
Same but the way I think of it is if my mom asks me a question do I just tell her to Google it or do I just answer it even though it’s just a stupid question? “Just Google it” isn’t even a legit answer anymore because it’s AI slop now. So do we stay ignorant or do we just deal with it and educate?

one way you can tell that the consumer economy is totally fucked, at least for the 99 percent, is that there are barely any tv commercials for just, like, things you might want to buy. it's nearly all drugs, prescription and otherwise, and a few lingering car commercials that are all old.
