I’m on board with this assessment, and it is also striking to me that McCartney has been an A-list celebrity continuously for 60+ years, probably longer than anyone else in history. I believe that every show he has performed in since 1963 has had him or his group as headliners.
I just watched Paul McCartney play 2.5 hours of time capsule-worthy classics. My verdict is that he’s the greatest songwriter in the history of rock n roll.

Last times I was in DC was for a Good Night Oppy thing. Walked past a charity run on my way to NASM to visit a dusty old friend, and then a spectacular array of kites being flown on the mall walking to the film festival later in the day.
