Reminder: Kennys Bookshop delivers for free in Ireland. Easons have free delivery over 10 euros (and also sell toys and games and stationary). Lots of lovely booksellers in the actual stores too, like Books Upstairs, Gutter Bookshop, Hodges Figgis.

Chalk me up as another person who missed this piece when it came out in December. Stunning, luxurious writing on family, friends, and Seamus Heaney, by Caitlin Flanagan.

Tough year for art sales and I depend solely on it for a living, so if you like anything I do, I'd appreciate if you'd keep me in mind when buying gifts for friends or family. If you hate what I do, I'd appreciate if you'd keep me in mind when buying gifts for enemies or nemeses.

Baffling to me that anyone would try to push a "they're stealing the election" narrative here when we literally have people packed into counting centres watching other people count votes from like inches away. It's incredibly transparent. #ge24

What is it with people, and treating these precious surviving ecosystem fragments as worthless expendables?

Almost 20(!) years later and this movie still SLAPS. Strongest urge to telephoné le police when Juno is alone with Jason Bateman's character at any point in the film. Seriously worried that I did not pick up on the vibes when I watched this as a child... Allison Janney & J.K. Simmons are perfect.🎬 📽

Not sure people realise how hard it's been recently for artists to survive, or how deeply appreciated every single order is. If you can't buy something, it makes a huge difference just to share our work. If you can't share our work, a little sacrifice to the Old Gods on our behalf means a lot, too 💜

A huge number of us are or will be carers at some point in our lives and the lack of either respect or support by so many politicians, including the leader of the country, for the enormous work done and the emotional and physical toll it takes is infuriating. Completely out of touch.
