7. Inheritance - Christopher Paoilini ⭐️⭐️⭐️ took 1 million year to finish but I guess I enjoyed LOTR lite #BookSky

6. ⭐️ This was terrible.

Main character? Dull
Love interest? Creepy
Pacing? Slow as sludge
No character development..

Honestly I am beginning to tire of fantasy stories where the central character competes in trials to win a place of note in a kingdom... ⭐️ #BookSky

5. The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks - Rebecca Skloot. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was amazing. This non fiction book great pacing and storytelling elements, following two tales: Henriettas life & how her cells changed medicine forever, and the lives of her children. #BookSky📚

4. Two Twisted Crowns - Rachel Gilleg ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

2nd in series, the Shepard King duology is solid if you like fantasy (YA vibes)

3. Brooklyn - Colm Tóibín ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Kind of can't believe I never read this cover to cover before.
Eilis is kind of a messy bitch.

2. The Dead of Winter- Sarah Clegg ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Slightly batshit, interesting history of the beginning of Christmas customs, ghouls and demons...

1. Circle of Friends: Maeve Binchy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I'm sorry, the way this DELIGHTED me. It felt like being enveloped in a warm hug. I can feel I'm entering a new decade purely based on how much I enjoyed this...
Such a snapshot of a point in time in Ireland. Character based with just enough plot

Almost 20(!) years later and this movie still SLAPS. Strongest urge to telephoné le police when Juno is alone with Jason Bateman's character at any point in the film. Seriously worried that I did not pick up on the vibes when I watched this as a child... Allison Janney & J.K. Simmons are perfect.🎬 📽

Hi Rick, I know you read a lot of books. This one does a great job of outlining why the slide with young men identified in these stats has happened.. it really opened my eyes to incel culture and how young men are being targeted and radicalised online, and outlines how we ought to tackle it.

I believe in the unpopular opinion that covid doesn't exist in the past tense, but the present. Its a threat to public health with unquantifiable consequence as yet to ageing & how it manifests itself. Disease mitigation is something I'm all for & thank u lord for ppl like @lornamcfindy.bsky.social

Copying my gal @gracespencegreen.bsky.social with a self introduction (we need to make bluespace happen guys). Missing: extremely cool picture of me in my wheelchair..

I'm 29, disabled & working as an engineer. Love reading, writing, tv & film. I am (let's face facts) chronically online.

End of year thread to chronical my reading towards the end of 2024.
Just finished: Bleak House on Audible. I love these full cast Sam Mendes adaptations- my favourite is still David Copperfield ft Ncuti Gawta though!

9. Jamie and Michelle
Why can I never remember this couple? This was grand but didn't feel great to me. Think lots of time wasting with the ketchup bottles IMO!
Feel they could be in danger girl

6. Jowita & Pete
I'm sorry but what the fuck was this. Genuinely terrible and those pants were a violation. Can we double eliminate him and Wynne.
November 17, 2024 at 11:57 AM
5. Wynne and Katya

You are a genius though I do love herrr
November 17, 2024 at 11:54 AM
4. Sarah & Vito ok this was technically very good. I can't explain it but just don't warm to or remember this partnership. I'm sorry
November 17, 2024 at 11:52 AM
3. Montell & Johannes were SO fun. Love this partnership they have an energy that's unmatched. One gripe, I hate when people aren't put in the right shoes for the dance though...

This is ironic because I am disabled and cannot wear heels, but thems the breaks #Strictly

2. Chris and Dianne for the WIN. The class, the timing. I love Chris and all he represents. Not in an 'inspirational' look what he can do type way, he has amazing timing, hilarious & wants non disabled ppl to get over themselves. Take a bow Chris #DisabledRepresentation #Strictly
