I don't understand how anyone can watch how blatantly Grok is manipulated to answer the way ownership desires it to and then act like the other LLM chatbots couldn't possibly be similarly but less obviously compromised to produce responses in whatever way corporate interests and priorities dictate.

I figured out why #Tirailleurs didn't wow me, despite its earnestness.
1. French films are undefeated in whitewashing French racism. The opening shows forced conscription - but African tirailleurs enforce it with a few whites.

It still has not been released in the US - but I'm finally pressing ▶️ on #Tirailleurs with Omar Sy, about Senegalese soldiers in WWI - after sourcing a DVD from France. Some of my students will watch over Thanksgiving so I need to watch first. Excited to at last get to see it! 🗃️

Literally the reason Twitter sucks now is all these foreigners logged on willing to do racism for pennies on the dollar and undercut our home-grown American racists. We need to erect serious trade barriers to protect the integrity of our domestic racism industry and preserve racist jobs.

I had a popular account with a valuable audience and my Twitter payout was $80 a month-ish, to the point where I disabled monetization instead of uploading my ID. Payouts are only material if you live in a developing country, so “guy in Nigeria posting right-wing Amerislop” has taken over the site.
Twitter pays people based on engagement (views, retweets, comments, etc). It appears that many MAGA accounts are based abroad and they use AI technology to generate low-effort rage bait.
My guess is that this will get worse as AI tech improves. For instance, fake videos of minorities doing crime.

There are going to be prominent Democrats and mainstream media voices who insist that we have to "turn the page" and "forgive and forget" and they should all be roundly ignored, if not mercilessly mocked.

And I thought, that very intimidating man thinks I'm good at *this* and it's what I should do? And it turned out to be more meaningful & fun uncovering hidden histories than being a lawyer or journo!
