Seeing how much of the right-wing on Twitter is just bot farms, kinda lays bare how much hate and hatred is a project that needs to be constantly maintained, a fire that needs to be fed all the time lest it go out for a moment, so much time, effort, and resources to keep people angry and hateful.

A grim reminder: these people will never be satisfied. There’s no point at which they will say “we’ve won, let’s enjoy life.” They will always be looking for someone else to punish, to revile, to dehumanize. They’re empty without that.

The left was derided for promoting a cancel culture because they went after predators and those who abused their wealth and power.

The right is canceling anyone who dares speak truth to power.

Both sides are not remotely the same.

"the evidence for current and future harm to human health and welfare created by human-caused GHGs is beyond scientific dispute."

Many of us are totally invested in demonstrably false notions of American peacefulness, respectability, and decorum.
condemnations of political violence are well taken but it does feel as if some
prominent political commentators are of the view that violence isn’t a part of the history of American politics and that is very much not true.

Kirk’s murder is awful and ominous for this country. But no, we don’t need to honor him or “continue his work.”

It's absolutely undeniable the system is broken. On so many levels in so many ways. And none of it is sustainable. But the status quo forces have quite the grip! Mostly on what we can imagine is possible.

We need to get busy on imagining a different kind of world. Then get to work on it.

You are not necessarily going to have to specify what makes you high risk and therefore qualified for a Covid shot. You likely will only just have to click “yes” - and the truth is EVERYONE IS HIGH RISK

Getting covid puts you at risk for disability and chronic illness.
This. I live in NYC, but my mom is in NJ. Just scheduled an appt online at a CVS in NJ for when I visit her. System asked for age (I’m under 65) then if high risk - I clicked yes and it took me to page to make an appt. So it takes people’s word for it when they click yes and allows scheduling.
