Art is a process of making so many choices about how a work works that a small part of yourself gets left behind. That part of yourself has political opinions weather you put them there or not. there's no avoiding making games about politics.
I've been working on my paper mario inspired deckbuilder and I have transitions into and out of combat fully implemented, as well as a system to store both the combat and overworld environment simultaneously loaded but while ensuring only one runs at a time. #gamedev #godot. #indiedev

I'm really bad at the whole sharing progress thing, and its not a social anxiety thing, or a fear of being judged thing, it's a #gamedev is too much fun thing.
I keep planning out a devlog or a post on bluesky, I get out the project to record or screenshot, and suddenly 15 new features are done.

I think more left leaning people need to take up art, not because we need more art but because so many of them focus on arguing about what the finished canvas should look like and almost none of them discuss the individual brush strokes we need to get there.

I just want the techbros to know that I studied AI since 2015. My hatred for the technology doesn't come from the idea that it may take my job, it comes from the fact that no amount of money made me okay with the harm that AI was doing or the lies we had to tell to keep people interested in it.

AI works by recreating patterns of the works in its data set, it will always be behind the times, trying to play catch up. if AI manages to recreate a style that style will instantly become so oversaturated that consumers will be sick of it by the time you can get anything to market with it.

Something companies like Amazon need to realize is that their business model is fundamentally reliant on people's habits which means that if this boycott lasts long enough these customers are just not coming back, you broke their habit.

What I've learned from all this nonsense is that most people don't know what a Federated government is.

It is both a blessing and a curse that to most Americans the shit Trump does really is like a bad reality tv show and the things that would effect them have been undone at the state level.

I've added Keyword Hints to my #TimingBased #deckbuilder
Should I just upload this new version to itch immediately? keyword hints make the game so much easier to figure out especially since the feature can be used to make small tutorials.

As I read more and more comments about what is happening, I realize that no matter how much I express my disgust at what is happening, people from other places will still think of me as an extension of it, instead of my own independent person.
That is how WE got into this mess, so I worry for them.

I'd like to get back to working on my game during weekends, but I feel like I need more people to play my prototype so that I can get feedback on how it plays and people to bounce ideas off of. maybe I should post a short devlog or something.

With animations for the enemies it has been much easier to realize that my block mechanic was working as intended, but NEEDs enemy animations to be fun to use.
