RFK Jr. Is going full Nazi with this: like Mengele, the Nazi quack who experimented on extermination camp inmates, his commissioning of this racially selective "study" will expose children in an at-risk population to devastating disease and death, all in pursuit of a pseudo-scientific experiment.

A large study of COVID19 vaccination and SARS-CoV-2 infection during pregnancy showed that vaccination was significantly associated with reduced:

-Preterm births
-Hospitalizations
-Admissions to critical care unit

Yet RFK Jr., Makary, Prasad and Hoeg continue to spread disinformation about it.

AOC: Donald Trump and Stephen Miller want you to believe that this is who we are as a country. And we are here to say that it is not. We are a country that has fought and defeated the confederacy. That has defeated a history of civil rights violations, of secret police, of fascism.

As data centers pop up in every corner of the country, their electricity demands are spiking rates for everyone.

But why on Earth should you be covering the electricity bill of a billion-dollar tech giant?

This week, @warren.senate.gov, @blumenthal.senate.gov, & I are asking big tech just that.

I love this.

«Upload an architectural render. Get back what it'll actually look like on a random Tuesday in November.

No sunshine. No happy families. No impossibly green trees. Just cold, honest, depressing reality.»
Loving this. "Antirender" engine converts architects presentation drawings into the likely reality of the designs :)

It's always only been about power, not principle, this endless back and forth about "states rights" vs the federal power--ever since the ratification debates in 1787-89 and every generation since then. When slave owners dominated the federal power, they opposed state-level restrictions on slavery.
NEW: Once one of the loudest voices to argue states — not the federal government — should have near-exclusive authority over elections, DOJ Civil Rights Division head Harmeet Dhillon now claims the department has “sweeping” authority to seize state voter rolls.

Wow.The basic pretense of the initial removal, flimsy as it was, was also not even grounded in fact.
🚨Judge Xinis finds that, incredibly, Mr. Abrego Garcia was never ordered deported in 2019. She notes that every since this saga began all the way back in March, the government has NEVER been able to produce any evidence that the immigration judge actually issued a removal order.

One major reason I left all my "friends" on Facebook. Blue sky is a compromise--social media has so reshaped the public sphere that it is necessary to keep a toe in the water just to stay aware (I wouldn't say informed). I get leads here, but to be aware of things I may want to track down elsewhere.

Parnia Abbasi was a 23-year-old Iranian poet who, along with her whole family, was killed this past June by Israel. I just translated an excerpt of her poem The Dying Star for my book. I have no idea if I'll get to use it in the book, but translating it made me cry, so I'd like to share it with you:

Since 1995, Madrid's Metro has added 107mi (172km)

Since 1987, Boston's MBTA has added 4.3mi (6.9km)

Boston's system has 39.5mi of heavy rail and 26.7mi of light rail. Madrid has 184.3mi of heavy rail and 17.3mi of light rail - 3x more!

I wonder what it's like living in a functional society 🤔
It would take 2 hours and 20 minutes to travel between Boston and Washington, D.C. at this speed.

This country is so behind, it's laughable.
