When Fillmore announced he was stepping down as MP to run for mayor, he posted a video describing how the city could take over the canada post land next door to this and turn it into affordable housing. Now that he’s in, he doesn’t even have the vision to follow through on existing projects.

"During the last 12 years of construction on the bike lane network, Halifax spent $900 million on road maintenance."

We are optimizing spending on a small fraction of our budget while ignoring the largest part? That's doing the most work for the least gain.

Watching Carney’s speech and chasing it with this is making me feel absolutely insane
Trump on Canada: They should be grateful also, but they’re not. I watched your prime minister yesterday. He wasn’t so grateful. But they should be grateful to us. Canada lives because of the U.S. Remember that, Mark, the next time you make your statements.

NS could have found a creative way to turn bridge tolls (and more) into something like congestion pricing to fund Halifax-area transit and get other benefits.
We did the “common sense” thing instead and removed the tolls entirely, ugh.
fantastic article with data showing how congestion pricing is one of the most effective transportation policies ever.

as a day 1 congestion pricing supporter it has been so satisfying to see the program be so successful

Using this logic, any country could invade Israel, capture Netanyahu, and bring him to the Hague to face his indictments by the International Criminal Court.
