Large corps like Blackstone buy large numbers of houses and then control the supply of rental units. They bid up the price of houses which forces people to rent. Then they raise the price of rent. It’s the billionaires not the immigrants. www.cnbc.com/2023/02/21/h...
Wall Street has purchased hundreds of thousands of single-family homes since the Great Recession. Here's what that means for rental prices
Corporations backed by private equity groups such as Blackstone and Pretium Partners bought tens of thousands of homes across the U.S. Sun Belt.

Going back to Summers' talk about how women don't want to work hard and don't have high end aptitude, we could ask:

What fraction of young men must deal with a creep with substantial power over their career hitting on them using tips from an infamous pedophile? 🤔

The fact that Summers remained so popular after questioning the intellectual abilities of women is really a pretty harsh indictment of US society as a whole and particularly the elite circles Summers travels in, and Democrats should have kicked him to the curb for that shit.

And not to get too real on a late night post, but yeah.

I am *so* fucking done with people acting like this is normal. That the president of our country can just flat out lie and it’s not a big deal. That an entire branch of our government has been subverted to the whims of a serial liar.
As someone who has had multiple MRIs, you absolutely know what the techs are imaging before they put you in the machine, because if there is any sort of metal in the target area you *really* need to let them know beforehand since cleaning bloodstains out of the tube is NOT a good time
Trump: I had an MRI and the result was outstanding.

Reporter: Was it your brain?

Trump: I have no idea what they analyzed, but whatever they analyzed, they analyzed it well.

No competent, conscious adult goes in for a significant medical test with no idea what is being tested or why.

A pathological lie or a clear indication of mental incompetence
Trump: I had an MRI and the result was outstanding.

Reporter: Was it your brain?

If those 8 Republicans want to sue the DOJ for legally monitoring their phones...claiming “there was no justification”...then prove it.
Authorize the release of everything the DOJ obtained.
Let’s see how “clean” they really are.

Most Americans agree we need to get money out of politics. If that takes a constitutional amendment, then that's what we have to do. And if that's going to take years, then it's all the more reason to begin pushing now.

Not but a year ago, the U.S. was offering a $10m reward for information leading to al-Sharaa’s arrest.

In November, just days ago, the U.S. took al-Sharaa off the “Specially Designated Global Terrorist” list.
Here's Trump spraying Al-Sharaa with his cologne, asking him how many wives he has..at the Oval Office.

Published, naturally, by the Syria team.

They weren’t “negotiations”.

They were discussions on the terms of surrender.

They’re wearing masks so they can’t be prosecuted later. As long as they think they can’t be prosecuted, their crimes will intensify. They will torture, starve and kill, as they have already, on greater and greater scale.

Signed, someone who’s covered the unaccountable War on Terror for 23 years.
I’ve come to believe that we need to gather considerable forces and a campaign to demand the removal of face masks by ICE, Border Patrol, FBI and police.

It is a practice in conflict with the principles of transparency & accountability that are central to the concept of democracy.

One of the unacknowledged advantages of this awful era is that it's revealing for all to see the putrid connections between great wealth and great power.

The intentions of the oligarchs are fully exposed and more blatant than ever.

But remember: We outnumber the oligarchs.
