To commemorate Animal Kingdom’s Birthday, I’m going to repost my very silly Twitter thread reading the also very silly (& somehow officially licensed ???) Countdown to Extinction book — all 42 pages of it.

When Disney replaced Bugs Land at DCA with the Avengers Campus, we were tasked with building a working prop that Ant Man or the Wasp could carry around with them. I built all the rides, the restroom and a vending cart and we printed them out really, really tiny. There were two used at the park.

I would like to write a Star Tours series with the format of Wings, but in space.
A single terminal set, a core cast of employees (gate agents, mechanics, security screeners, servers, and pilots upset about the transition to RX droids), with a cavalcade of galactic freaks passing through.

While waiting to meet Santa last year, a CM said that two rugs were made because they were afraid one might “go missing” 😏
I created a countdown clock for that beautiful Dino Institute rug. diservations.com/countdowns/d...
Dino Institute Rug Countdown
With DinoLand U.S.A. closing in 2026, we fear we'll never see the iconic Dino Institute rug once Santa heads back to the North Pole.

If I lived closer I’d buy a dozen, lacquer them, attach a ribbon, and use them as Christmas ornaments.
The Santa-Carno is great reference to the early days of Dino-Rama.

The halfway point of the Diegetic Shuffle isn't the only milestone we hit this weekend—with Visions Vol. 3 I added the 500th (and 501st) cue to the spreadsheet of diegetic Star Wars music! I thought I'd mark it with another look by the numbers. docs.google.com/spreadsheets...

In 93' While ILM was animating dinosaurs, Rhythm and Hues was working on a motion base ride for a now defunct theme park in Japan. I built a lot of models for Seafari, including the whale sub, but this was also my first animation gig. Lorne Lanning was the art director.

Here’s another fun and somewhat bizarre photo for you all this weekend!
.
This publicity photo of the Country Bears skiing down Big Thunder Mountain Railroad was taken in the summer of 1984. Looks like Liver Lips, Wendell, and Terrance had a tough time as they all have on casts!

The first set of pins I've ever designed dropped on Carousel of Products! (First pic is my artwork, second is how they turned out!) These three pins celebrate Animal Kingdom's DINOSAUR! #art
It was really cool designing these pins, especially the ones with movement. The Alioramus is my favorite!
