Decided to introduce my 27 and 31 year old kids to this obscure Dick Van Dyke film to celebrate his 100th, and they loved it! Biting satire of America by Norman Lear, similar in many ways (and in some ways superior to) ”It’s A Mad Mad Mad Mad World.” Bob Newhart, Tom Poston, Bob & Ray! Watch it!

This is the 24” prototype of the Unisphere made by US Steel, as seen in the post below. It was likely commissioned for the 1964 #NYWF approval committee prior to them building the large one. It was later given to Tommy Bartlett, who put on a waterski show at the fair.

According to Tom Spina Designs, the giant Krayt Dragon skeleton that C-3PO encounters on Tatooine was actually left over from the 1975 Disney live-action flick "One of Our Dinosaurs is Missing."

Gorgeous photo of Walt Disney’s Ford Pavilion loading area at the 1964-65 New York World’s Fair. In the distance behind the line you can see the Auto Parts Harmonic, which I believe was designed by imagineer Rolly Crump.
