Me (chronically ill): I’m just going to lie down and put on a quiet video while I try to head off this migraine

Also me (ADHD): Now would be a great time to look for live bootlegs of Refused songs from the late 90s

Something I wish liberals - and, for that matter, a lot of leftists - would internalize:

The goal is not to out-argue, disprove, fact-check, debate, or point out the inconsistencies or hypocrisies of fascists.

The goal is to defeat them.

As an autistic trans person, this has been clear to me for a long time.

These people are extremely uncomfortable with happy, weird little guys existing.
I think this is something I've missed when talking about why the far right values attacking trans people so highly. It's not just that it radicalises people and teaches them anti human rights arguments, it's that it literally cultivates authoritarian thinking

theconversation.com/antagonism-t...
Antagonism to transgender rights is tied to the authoritarian desire for social conformity – not just partisan affiliation
Authoritarian attitudes – the desire for social conformity and an aversion to difference – play an important role in Americans’ willingness to restrict transgender rights.

I really appreciated this piece on queer cohousing, including the acknowledgement that it's out of reach financially for the majority of people. It sounds like a dream and I wish it was more accessible.

Thanks be to sanitation workers and others who are literally keeping us alive while our infrastructure collapses. 💚
in my city which is apparently in a state of extended military occupation due to extreme and widespread unrest a really kind sanitation worker saw me sitting out front with my kids and gave them free toy trash cans and we talked about recycling

I'm so scared of cities. All those buildings so close to each other. You can go to the movie theater and a restaurant and the park while walking, in defiance of God. There are people you haven't met before. Sometimes there's a dog in a jacket

Tech companies will tell you to not bring politics to work. Then do this.

Airbnb is spending $1M in ads to attack opponents of Cuomo for not supporting short-term rentals.

Whether you're pro or anti-Airbnb, they shouldn't influence elections.

No one is just their disability. Culture, socioeconomic status, location, etc are a part of the disability experience. This carries over into accessibility. It's important to think about when addressing access barriers. It's important to have voices in the field that aren't the usual seen in tech.

I’ve seen them and even still I have yet to see any proof that any automated tool can do that.
