Abolish ICE.

There’s no reforming it.

There’s no compromise.

There’s only one way to rein in ICE’s terror campaign. Abolish it.

Do people understand that some version of this is currently happening at EVERY university in the US?
Breaking News: Texas A&M ended its women’s studies program and changed hundreds of courses over race and gender to comply with new policies limiting how race and gender ideology may be discussed in classrooms.
Texas A&M Ends Women’s Studies and Overhauls Hundreds of Classes on Race and Gender
New policies limiting the teaching of race and gender issues led administrators and professors to change hundreds of courses. School leaders say the rules could hurt A&M’s reputation.

Can confirm. Nothing has changed on the ground. ICE still attacking people, kidnapping, all that stuff—and the city is still out protecting and helping neighbors
Absolutely surreal to continue to hear about drawdowns and lowered temperatures and things calming down in Minneapolis when, as far as I can tell, literally nothing has changed on the ground

Abolish DHS. If you can imagine a world before Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, you can imagine a world without the Department of Homeland Security. My latest at @startribune.com. (gift link)
Perry: Abolish ICE? How about DHS altogether.
"We have models for how to structure federal immigration oversight that doesn't rely on an unaccountable masked secret police force running rampant in our streets," David M. Perry writes.

This angle is so reminiscent of the death squads many of us studied and fought against in the last century. Slave catchers and death squads, here we are.

As someone who has spent over 35 years trying to explain that violence is inherent to policing only to have most people be OK with this, I could be excused if I decided to just give up. But I'm not. I knew we would be where we are today. I still think that we do not have to live like this.

It is hard for me not to regard the failure to recognize that the AI boom is inextricable from totalitarian creep as willful ignorance, as either the delusions of those who believe they are immune or an endorsement that doesn’t require a vulgar red cap.

But AI boosterism is Trumpism now. Full stop.
it is an incredible coincidence that the tech sector going all-in on AI is also owned by people that want to destroy the institutions of democratic life

I’m seeing posts from people (outside of MN) about how US citizens should carry their passports.

And let me say that *inside* MN, we are calmly responding to requests with: “No, I don’t have to show you any documentation.”

Because that’s how you protect everyone, regardless of immigration status.

The reason MAGA thinks this video shows Renée Good‘s murderer as justified is found in the Margaret Atwood quote: "Men are afraid that women will laugh at them. Women are afraid that men will kill them."

In their minds, these two things are equivalent. #3E #EndImpunity #GoodVsEvil #RenéeGood
Renee Good’s murder was not just a homicide, it’s a hate crime against women, called femicide.

Good told ICE, "That's fine, I'm not mad at you" and was shot 3 times in the head point blank, Ross yelled the misogynist slur, "fucking bitch" after killing her. #3E #endimpunity
