This dynamic keeps repeating. Respectable commentators want to have a philosophical debate about (e.g.) Britishness or the definition of "woman", because they don't want to spell out the unpleasant things they think should be done to certain people.
don't fall for the trap of explaining yet again St George wasn't English and the British flag was used to exploit the world. They know. But this is the conversation they would prefer us to have endlessly. The flags are a proxy because they'd get arrested if they said 'GO HOME'. This is the issue.
