Deranged Leftist.
In my day (ten thousand years ago) kids would regularly go out to the pictures. Now there's only one big cinema that's away from where most people actually live. Sure this doesn't help.
Kids can't hang out in parks. They can't hang out at the mall. They don't have 3rd spaces because no one wants kids around and then we are surprised when they rely on SM for connection.
If you take that away, what do they have left?

The impacts of locking under 16 yos from their social media networks are now beginning to bite for those young people who relied on them for social connection

theory: we can get the mainstream press to write in the active voice if we frame all violence as a form of cancel culture. e.g., "the police canceled him 6 times in the chest and canceled him twice more in the head"

Saw Suede in Portsmouth last night. Hugely impressed. New material sounding immense live - including brand new song Tribe.
The Antidepressants UK Tour 2026 is now SOLD OUT.

Limited tickets for remaining EU dates are available here: tix.to/SuedeDWTETMa...

At this rate he'll be reduced to remaining uncharged and unarrested in an even slightly smaller picturesque Royal lodge that he doesn't have to pay for
There's some stuff that REALLY implicates Andrew Mountbatten Windsor in allegations of very bad stuff in this latest document release, everyone

Whoa, click through to download the famed 2003 “Directors Label” DVD collections of music videos by the masters (Gondry, Romanek, Jonze, Corbijn, Cunningham, etc) with commentary & extras, seemingly uploaded by Directors Label for the 20th anniversary. Incredible resource!

I think a useful response to the political plans of well-funded fascists is not "how ridiculous, they could never achieve those laughably cruel aims" but instead "they mean what they say, they are going to kill a lot of people before they are stopped, how about we make sure they don't get to try".

Because we're on a big 28 Years Later thing we rewatched 28 Days Later and went on to realise a key filming location was actually not very far away. Seemed daft not to visit!

New Belaria EP, Dynamic State, is out today. Been enjoying her DJ sets through 2025 but she's taking a different route with her production for this. Lovin' it.

Very pleased to be able to say that The Bone Temple did not disappoint. Glad I got in quick to avoid spoilers!

Currently on my way to a 28 Years Later double bill. I've got a good feeling about this.
The 28 Days Later series currently follows the Die Hard and CraigBonds pattern of release quality, ie: Amazing, Not great, Amazing. Here's hoping they break the mould and deliver decent fourth and fifth installments.

Hmm. This brings to mind the weird situation where, in the UK, there's a retrospective concensus that *everyone* was listening to Blur and Oasis back in the mid-90s. Kids - don't believe everything you hear. Your parents were *probably* buying Wet Wet Wet records...
The core argument of this piece, that Bowie isn't "keeping up" with his peers in streams & income, elides the fact that Bowie was never a "Forbes fixture". he had one mega-platinum success w Let's Dance. otherwise he was always 2nd tier, sales wise! www.theguardian.com/music/2026/j...
Ten years after his death, is David Bowie’s musical legacy at risk of fading from view?
From the V&A to the Stranger Things finale, the pop icon still looms large – but with lower streaming figures than his peers, how many new listeners are discovering his music?

Alden is a wise young man. I might be on the other side of the Atlantic but these words hold value regardless. Chin up. Stand firm. Fuck them.
Things are awful, and every day is filled to the brim with darkness & pain. I know it’s hard to keep going. I feel it too. I know that maybe some of you are asking if it’s even worth hanging on and being here, so I have to stress this:

We need you here. You gotta keep going. Why? Because fuck them.
