My family gathers for Shabbat dinner almost every Friday. The day after Thanksgiving, we always have more white meat leftover than anything and not enough of everything else. Once I started making white meat massaman curry the next night, I’ve never wondered what to do for that dinner.

Today’s effort was successful. My favorite win of the day: turning the 14-year old nephew into a butternut squash fan by roasting it with a simple miso-maple glaze.

Turkey contains slightly more tryptophan than canned tuna. It's not the reason you get sleepy after having a 4000 calorie meal with three glasses of wine in the afternoon.

I have my share of complaints about my kosher upbringing and cooking meals like Thanksgiving in my parents’ kosher home, but kosher turkeys are essentially pre-brined, so I’ll take that head start as consolation.

Whether this was random street crime or targeted political violence, I think it was bad for the president to unnecessarily put the National Guard in harm’s way like this. They simply don’t need to be there.
