The hidden cost of Brazil’s climate crisis for UK supermarkets.

Most people in the UK have little idea that the food in their fridge is closely connected to extreme weather now sweeping Brazil.

We're proud to be a partner on this project, which is bringing the stories of carpets to life - they're much more than just somewhere to put your feet 👣
The website for Knotted Histories is now up at tinyurl.com/2tszcc2f 🧶✨🧵The project is run between @engfac.bsky.social, @ashmoleanmuseum.bsky.social and @researchnt.bsky.social, and will be looking at the creation of early modern carpets as well as their role in global networks.

BREAKING - Police FAIL to arrest dozens of “terrorists” today.

Police left most sign-holders in Truro with “I oppose genocide - I support Palestine Action” signs.

No arrests in Edinburgh, and many were not arrested in Oxford.

The only way Shabana Mahmood will implement her vile, racist "reforms" is by importing anti-migrant ICE raids from the US into our communities, supported (more readily than in Britain than in some US states) by the police. It's time to get organised against the horrors that lie ahead

This is the Tehran Times propaganda model. The culture pages are actually quite good. The journalism is largely unremarkable. And the really diabolical stuff is in the op-ed pages.

Does that sound familiar? It’s how the New York Times operates, too.

Reading the Dictators’ Newspapers
The Pyongyang Times and the Tehran Times are both ludicrous propaganda outlets. In that way, they’re just like our media in the United States.

My unpopular thought on this is that the bling we pay million pound ransoms to land owners & metal detectorsists for... Is not worth that much money. I get that it has that exchange value, that a billionaire would buy it for that so we couldn't see it. But we, as a nation, don't get that much value
