I have not had Covid since April 2020 but I have a suspicion I might have it now. Testing tomorrow I think.

The problem with percentages. Percentages lead you to missing large numbers.

You see this in global warming deniers a lot.

“But it’s only 0.04% of the atmosphere!”

Yes. True but in the tables I used as a baby engineer in the 80s it was 0.03%… that’s a huge change in 40 years.

There's also a problem here that while these locations are 'only' 20-25% of the entire US economy, there are companies in these areas which drive wider economic activity across the nation. Seattle/WA is only ~3% of GDP but MS, Amazon, Starbucks, Boeing, CostCo drive GDP nationwide.
Conditions in places that make up a disproportionate share of the national economy *are* in fact more important. That’s where people are much more likely to want to move!
Conditions in NYC, Boston, and SF may feel more important to you than Cincinnati and Chicago and Oklahoma City and Houston, but rather than finding a way to rationalize this instinct, I’d encourage you to recognize that it is a your perception of the country being distorted by social relationships.

Poker is what?
Lmaooo dude deal with the fact that the only truly right-coded things are pedophilia, racism, misogyny, and stupidity and not necessarily in that order
what?

As I said in the thread - if you had to find a way to survive in San Diego on $130k WITH current housing costs it isn't going to be a lot of fun and could eat up 55-60% of your take home pay.
Right the dynamic here in San Diego is that you can live a perfectly normal middle-class life on $100k/year here... if you bought your house 15 years ago or otherwise have some sort of housing hookup like a subsidized BMR unit.

Other option is to live an hour+ away from where the jobs are
Even in San Diego, a family making 136k a year isn’t exactly working class, much less living in poverty! There are many, many people making much less than that

No. Really? Shocking 🙄

I suppose my to back in the days I was on the hellsite of asking after the weather in St Petersburg was the right reaction.
This is one of the big accounts boosting Tommy Robinson, Farage and Reform and ‘English Patriots’.

It’s Russian.

And yet countries which prioritize rehabilitation over punishment seem to have better outcomes. Kinda weird that.
Not surprised to see Elon Musk supporting Cruel and unusual punishment.

Pretty sure this was the place innocent people were sent for life earlier this year

Wasn’t it viral for also being a suspected death camp, blood/bodies in Google earth?

I remember having lounge access for an airline and standing looking at the lounge but finding out from the part of CDG I had found myself in that was essentially all I could do without doing some kind of mythic ring quest to retrace my steps to work out where I went wrong.
Truly insane that there’s nowhere to get a drink behind security at Charles de Gaulle. I demand that Interpol investigate
It's shocking that the nation that insists on having a bar next to every playground (good) doesn't have anything in their major airport.

I have never seen a rugby match like that and fervently hope never to again.

It is the inevitability of some Boer here coming up to discuss the game with me after the match that has the acid reflux kicking in.

Speaking as a ref, I think this is poor game management from Carley. If this is such an issue then speak to the captain. Irelands discipline is piss poor but Carley is taking the absolute piss

When did they bring in time limited red cards in rugby.
November 22, 2025 at 6:20 PM
Ryan you bloody idiot. You didn’t need to do that.

This is going to be a long morning.

I have been talked into watching the Ireland game at the home of South African rugby in Seattle.

This could be depressing.

Roofman is a very odd movie with an exceptional cast and, seems to, track closely to the true story it’s based on.

Unlike Play Date I think it’s probably 20 minutes longer than it needs to be.
November 22, 2025 at 7:13 AM
I do not wish to damn with faint praise because it is genuinely a better movie than that, but Play Date is wayyyyyy better than it should be and a great deal of fun that does not overstay its welcome.
November 22, 2025 at 7:12 AM
Roofman.

Channing Tatum, Kirsten Dunst, Peter Dinkledge.

The movie is pedestrian but it’s pretty much entirely true and tracks closely to the true and very very very bizarre story.

Having slept on this I’m still angry about it. We got here because the entire media establishment enabled it and still are.

The article is an astonishing time capsule particularly because everything they chide Harris for saying CAME TRUE.

What astounds me about this utter shit from @npr.org and let’s be clear here this is shit. It’s shit reporting. It’s shit coverage and it’s the shit that has led us to hear because of the flagrant dishonest involved is just how fucking wrong it all is.

Apologize to me.

www.npr.org/2024/08/25/g...
12 misleading or lacking-in-context claims from Harris’ DNC speech
They range from characterizations of former President Trump’s stances on abortion rights and Social Security to her plans to address housing and grocery prices.

This was said to me today.

"Okay so I just don’t find this persuasive. Falling a foot isn’t the same as falling a mile, even if you fall the same speed"

Thing is. Falling a foot or a mile at the same speed is EXACTLY the same.

Pluribus would be a different show if Carol was a Science Fiction writer and not a fantasy one :)
November 21, 2025 at 7:06 AM
Pluribus is amazingly fucked up.

Decide to make beef stroganoff and immediately disagree with the recipes.

Sigh.

Well I’ll figure something out.
