Also, the USA barely has anything that isn't modern history.
Trump is often discussed as one of the worst presidents in modern American history, but it’s important to remember that such a categorization is far too narrow.

Donald J. Trump is one of the worst people in modern American history.

Me when it happens is contingent on it happening in prison, and the lot of them being stripped of their ill gotten gains, which is all of them.

And even then it's not enough to stop the machine...

I fail to see the contradiction here?

A cool result of everything having AI in it now is there are a bunch of buttons on every application that I have to be careful to never push, and everything takes five more seconds to load during which there's an animation of bonzi buddy thinking really hard

If you followed me you could have had slopaganda, which scores much better in Scrabble...

In the film The Princess Bride, a spectacular duel is fought atop the Cliffs of Insanity between a man in black, who we will later know as the Dread Pirate Roberts (and still later as Buttercup’s beloved farm boy, Wesley), and Inigo Montoya, the Spaniard.

Just a little reminder/boost that thankfully not everyone capitulates to the slopaganda machines.

Debugging is SO expensive!

As is performance monitoring, ironically enough...
Mari Lwyd's Pantri Panic v3 has been released.

It contains some code optimisations so it can run better on less powerful machines.

The code optimisations was that I commented out the debugging commands. Meaning they don't run.

Whoops.

Enjoy!

Growing up in filth also works, but is useless information as an adult...

I am almost never ill, whether it's minor colds to norovirus, swine flu or Covid.

But I'll still wear a mask in high risk situations cos I'm not an asshole.
We are experiencing a more severe than usual flu season and COVID rates are starting to rise. If you want to reduce your chances of getting sick, one of the most effective things you can do is wear a high quality mask. 🤫

THAT Chomsky?

Huh...
Well, there's a photo I never expected to see in my life. Noam Chomsky palling around with Steve Bannon.

Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

Bad management making unrealistic demands and burning out the workers is not unique to Agile or SCRUM…
I’m convinced corporate goons devised sprints so that when we minions get to work at a normal pace we feel grateful for the luxury.

It’s clever. Evil but clever.

I read approximately 25,000 words of Ed's in preparation for a debate with @davidwhitney.co.uk on the AI bubble at a tech meetup last night.

It went down a storm, tho I'm not sure I swayed anyone.

Anyway, we'll be doing it (or something very similar) at CityJS...
I'm afraid this week's premium will be delayed until Monday, because it's become far more ambitious than I originally anticipated. It's Mythbusters: AI Edition and it'll probably be the longest thing I've ever written.
