You know, if this is okay—the President can take funds and park them in a foreign slush account—then we really don't need a wealth tax. The next Democratic President can simply seize money from right-wing billionaires and park it offshore, free from "seizure" by Congress and the courts. 🤷♀️
Seizure ... by whom? If we're asserting that the money is safer in Qatar than the US, that suggests that it is being protected because Qatar has something the US lacks — presumably a lack of accountability to American courts and Congress. www.semafor.com/article/01/1...
