- capture CO2
- purify the air
- make clouds & rain
- prevent drought

Europe considers these pesticides too toxic for use at home - yet exports them to other countries✈️

This double standard is deadly and needs to end.

🌍 Watch civil society and farmer organisations around the world send them back to Brussels 👇

Energy systems are at the heart of climate change, technology, and the future of how we live, but they’re far more complex than most people realise.

This is a great explainer video by @chrisjardineenergy.bsky.social that helps to make sense of the energy system.

Societal and ecological collapse at 3-4C warming.

For <2C, the UK has 7 years of current CO2 emissions.

Drax and CCS are delay tech.

Heat pumps, good public transport, and deep cuts of aviation are essential.

For those unfamiliar, this involves:

- Cutting down trees that have sucked up carbon as they grew
- Burning them for energy
- Capturing the carbon that results from burning
- Transporting the carbon
- Injecting it underground
- Guarding it for the next few thousand years at least
NEW | A single carbon removal project at a biomass power station In the UK could cost £30 BILLION in government subsidies.

This would cost more than the UK government plans on spending for carbon capture programmes over 25 years.

My personal feeling, based on watching the weird self-perpetuating investment loop that these companies appear to be generating is that the AI bubble is creating a 'black tulip' effect with potential to cause an economic crash, while devouring electricity and bumping prices.

It feels like a scam.
When the AI bubble finally and inevitably collapses in on itself within the next few months, large swathes of data-centres would be sitting unused.

Large scale Bitcoin mining using near-free solar PV electricity would reduce costs by a factor of between 10x & 50x lower cost in 2026 compared to 2024
