The global unity we Americans have just forfeited can be rebuilt with this vocabulary. We all feel all of these.
A German word for being embarrassed by the actions of someone else is Fremdscham, or “foreign shame.” A similar word from Icelandic is aulahrollur, which is quite tricky to translate but basically means something along the lines of “cringe quake” or “douchebag chills”

One of the ironies of Google's focus on cumulative layout shift as a core web vital for SEO is that their own product, Ads, routinely has some of the worst lag I've ever encountered in a platform. Not to mention the other UX issues.

I also saw this claim and was pretty shocked, so I went and looked up the CDC data. Total overdose deaths (from all drugs) from 2003 - 2023 = 1,174,835.
