Trump is selling out Floridians to boost the profits of Big Oil donors. Floridians strongly oppose drilling off Florida’s Gulf Coast - it’s too risky to our economy and way of life.

BTW, it’s an illegal maneuver- Biden Admin adopted a permanent protection that can’t be rolled back.
President Trump wants to expand offshore oil and gas drilling across more than 1.2 billion acres of U.S. waters. Opening up California, the Gulf of Mexico, parts of Florida, and large areas of Alaska to drilling puts coastal economies, communities, and wildlife at risk.

Is climate change a low priority for most voters?

Yes.

Does that mean Democrats shouldn't talk about it?

No, no, no, no, no. If anything, Democrats should be talking about climate *more often* and raising it's salience because it's literally their best issue.

Housing affordability and the declining political fortunes of Democrats are profoundly connected.

An inability to build housing is THE big reason blue states are projected to lose 12 electoral college seats by 2032.

I think many of us feel this way. Even those of us working on climate full-time have had to redirect valuable attention to navigate federal disruptions.

But given the threats to people and planet posed by this administration, I think it's fair to say securing our democracy *is* climate action.
I'm just sad I've paid less attention to climate this year than any previous one in the last dozen, because it seems like we have to claw our way back to democracy first.....

This guy has been so AWOL that it will be hard to even tell the difference. Let’s get someone who can do the job — Americans’ lives depend on it.

Open minds & competition are good, but so is knowing when to cut losses and consolidate on a winning strategy. Green hydrogen for ground transport is dead, & mostly dead for anything other than as an industrial chemical/reactant for reduction, as ammonia or a fuel component, etc. Which is still big.
German taxpayers are handing BMW €273m to once again attempt to push hydrogen-powered cars, when battery prices have once again dropped >50% in the past ~18 month and CATL is on its 5th-gen LFP battery.

CATL, BYD et al must be laughing all the way to the bank.

Sigh.

I think this is more revealing and more of a directed indictment of the people and issues at hand than Ms Spiers may have intended.
I have my own criticism of their story mix - i think there should be fewer stories about some things and a lot more about others - but there is no top down mandate that determines that and stories tend to be driven by what individual section heads and editors think is important
