There is no difference between an ICE agent and cop with a gun. Both will violate civil rights and both will shoot without thinking twice. Which is why law enforcement is so desperate to protect ICE when they can.

Some of my colleagues who are against defunding the police/reform are suddenly yelling "abolish ICE", but they still can't imagine a world without our current policing system.

I get tired of saying it, but I’ll say it again: the nature of oppression in America is that they workshop it first on Black, Latino, Asian & Native people.

But it is always, in the end, coming for everyone.
The arrests of journalists Don Lemon and Georgia Fort are a test for every MSM member with a platform. If you are not voicing your outrage at this blatant violation of the First Amendment, you are utterly discredited as a journalist.

If your call to action only centers on the murder of Alex Pretti and Renee Good, we're gonna fight.

Abolish the police. Abolish ICE. No one is illegal. No one deserves to be murdered by law enforcement.

Please recognize the repeated choices that brought us here, grounded in racism.

if Kamala wanted to get elected, she should have campaigned on the issues that would have gotten her elected 🙄

mind you, Minneapolis had people getting gunned down in the streets under Biden they were just Black, and it was just the police.....

your politics are annoying.
If Kamala had been elected Minneapolis would not have been turned into a war zone where people are gunned down in the streets.

If Kamala Harris had won you still wouldn't be able to make rent or pay for groceries, and ICE would still be kidnapping Latinos, just more quietly, in a way that doesn't interrupt brunch.
Terrible things would still be happening to us- you just wouldn't care

It’s deeply depressing that people would rather attack a trans woman for criticizing Democrats than reckon with the fact that the party has been deeply complicit in sustaining the very systems now harming us. Just because Republicans are much worse doesn’t mean Dems aren’t complicit.

the biggest lie being told about ICE is that they are un-american.

ICE is probably the most potent distillation of american domineering spirit any government agency has had in decades. And people are seeing exactly what it looks like when we invade another country.

no, see the police, who extrajudicially executed Philando Castile, Tortugita, Breonna Taylor, Michael Brown, Elijah McClain, Eric Garner, Justine Ruszczyk Damond, Tamir Rice, Sandra Bland, Walter Scott, Stephon Clark, Ma'Khia Bryant, Laquan McDonald, and Freddie Gray, are LEGITIMATE law enforcement

We are all drowning in a pool of systemic propaganda so I understand why the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti feel esp shocking and I think it is important to do the internal work of asking yourself, if this applies to you, why the deaths of immigrants/Black folks don't shock in the same way

all I can hear is "this is your punishment for not letting us commit genocide"

“Omg, this is just like those annoying vegans.”
Counterpoint: maybe the next time someone goes vegan, I will just shout "SOME OF US HAVE BEEN SAYING THIS FOR YEARS" at them and see how it goes.

abolish presidents.

establish a parliamentary system with ranked choice voting.

make the supreme court an elected position.

ensure that the role of the federal government is to provide food, water, internet access, ubi, healthcare, shelter, and emergency services to all residents.
Abolish all presidents in the future from the power to pardon. It’s a side business for Trump.

I guess it’s fine to point out the murders were against US citizens because I think that point needs to break through to the normies.

However, I don’t like the implication that it means non-citizen should be shot and killed either.

Something is deeply wrong if we, as a society, cannot agree that an administration that snatches up children, uses them as bait to hunt down others, is morally repulsive.
They want to tell you a kid with a Spider-Man backpack is evil
Liam Ramos' innocence, like the innocence of all kids, is unimpeachable. The visuals of his arrest are excruciating.

In October, ICE grabbed Maher Tarabishi.

He was a 24/7 caregiver for his disabled son Wael.

At the time of Maher’s detention, disability advocates warned that taking away Wael’s caregiver put his life at risk.

Wael died on Friday at age 30.

ICE caused his death.

They didn’t get to say goodbye.
Disabled son of ICE detainee dies after 30 days of hospitalization
It had been months since Wael Tarabishi seen his father. The family is calling on ICE to release Maher Tarabishi so he may attend his son's funeral.

this is useless semantics. ICE and the police are institutions of systemic violence expressly constructed to enforce a social order designed to extract value from a manufactured underclass.
ICE is not law enforcement, they are not police, they are paramilitary. Opposing ICE is not against law enforcement, it is not against police, it is against paramilitary.
