Happy Birthday to HOFer Fergie Jenkins!

I absolutely love this shot - Fergie in classic Cub pinstripes, bear cub patch, Wrigley Field ivy in the background, and the fans holding all those glorious Otis Shepard illustrated scorecards!

If he can win FIFA’s peace prize, I think White Castle should give me their prize for astrophysics or maybe the brain surgery prize from Old Navy.

I just can't bring myself to be upset about one of the most corrupt and evil organizations sucking up to a political strongman. My expectations for FIFA are neck and neck with the IOC for the floor, they just can't surprise or disappoint me anymore.

The negative environmental impact of AI use alone is enough to never use it. Most of us have issues with it destroying everything. Its also theft. Its dumbing down the population so quickly. Most of us are critical because of real issues.

Wasn’t that entertaining.
The Sabres responded to an embarrassing loss to the Flames with a blowout win over the Blackhawks. The real test, though, is how they respond to this win. That and other thoughts on an entertaining night of hockey in Buffalo
Sabres bounce back with blowout win over Blackhawks. How will they respond now?
The Sabres helped themselves with 9-3 drubbing of the Blackhawks, but the challenge now for them is handling it the right way.

"Sir, did you just abuse and insult a journalist for asking a question? And did you publicly call a woman a piggie? Is this the way a U.S. President behaves?"

A reporter who so spoke loses WH credentials, maybe his job if his agency is gutless. But absent such, the entire WHPC is without honor.

Apologies to the thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands of L.A.-area drivers in front of me or coming in my direction the past two nights while I unknowingly had the brights on in my rental car. It won’t happen again.

Dean Wessel, the graphic designer responsible for the glorious Chicago Bulls logo—essentially unchanged since he created it at the team’s inception in 1966—was never paid a cent for it. Instead he got free tickets to some games.

The #Mets overpaid.
Would you believe the Mets paid only $1K for their iconic emblem?

More than 500 entries were submitted with sports cartoonist Ray Gotto being selected on 11/16/61 and awarded $1K for his design of orange and blue and the New York skyline on a baseball.

I recently read someone’s spec pilot and it left me a little confused. So when I was giving notes, I asked some clarifying questions. So here’s a thread on 3 QUESTIONS YOU ABSOLUTELY NEED TO BE ABLE TO ANSWER with your script/pitch.

An awful season for #MLB journalism. “Player X being targeted by Team Y” or “Team X is the frontrunner for Player Y.” That’s a #baseball writer concocting a rumor or repeating someone else’s concocted rumor. Just tell me when a player signs. I can come up with my own make-believe machinations.

Interesting stuff here, including thoughts on a soon-to-be-former #Cubs RF:

“Though Tucker has a history of getting to balls well, his arm strength is 4-5 MPH below that of an average right fielder… In sum, a decent defensive player if healthy, though not necessarily up with the best-skilled RFs.”

There's no such thing as a "favorite" or a "front-runner" for any free agent right now, except maybe if it's a guy likely to stay in the same place. There's no "in the lead," there's no "close to the finish."

It's either signed or not signed.
