Modern savage, a real searcher. Sharing GRAMA requests of #utpol for accountability. (Insert caveats.)
See 100% GOP appointed Utah Supreme Court that #utleg & Gov. Cox are now court packing because they don't like that UT S Ct held Utah laws re gerrymandering & abortion violated the Utah Constitution. #utpol
This is especially true when a Republican-appointed judge rules against Trump for some reason. It's included as a "See, this is SO bad that the GOP judge isn't doing what we all expect him to do and rubber stamp the administration! The judge following the law in this case is a man-bites dog story!"

🙄 I've been a print subscriber for almost 30-years and the staff changes @theatlantic.com has made in the last 5 years have left me rarely reading the print issue because of the thinly sourced, vibe-based writing. I *barely* renewed this last fall & just for @adamserwer.bsky.social & Vann Newkirk.
We’re excited to announce that David Brooks is joining The Atlantic as a staff writer. The Atlantic will be the home for all of his writing, and he will also host a new weekly video podcast that will launch later this spring. www.theatlantic.com/press-releas...

Qualified immunity is made-up judicial trash & should be legislatively changed.
11th Cir., 2-1, holds that it was not clearly established that it would violate a person's right to bodily integrity for sheriff's deputy to drive drunk at night without lights, hit the person's car, and then flee leaving person to die.

QI for deputy.

Not wrong. I'd guess a lot of US corps are deferring non-essential travel by their int'l employees to US & otherwise giving safety briefings akin to those from developing nations for those that must travel, including letters of invitation, travel plans, & memorized phone nos. in case phones seized

I've to ridiculously constrain AI to get it to even somewhat accurately *summarize* a contract that I've *uploaded* to it.

Ain't no way in hell I'm letting it draft anything as basic as an NDA from scratch, let alone a federal regulation. 🙄

All the pundits who were outraged at kids missing school in the early days of the COVID pandemic are welcome to speak up ANY TIME NOW
I talked to the principal at my kids' middle school yesterday, and he said about 30% of kids have not been showing up. Hard to fathom the academic and mental health impact this is having on kids, parents and teachers.

LDS faithful #utpol won't face the fact that the Missouri governor's execution order directed at members is merely a difference of degree, not of kind, in the violation of US citizens' constitutional rights & what's occurring now.
Nasra Ahmed, a 23-year-old US citizen, was arrested and detained by ICE. She was held for TWO DAYS.

ICE agents handcuffed her, called her a racial slur, and she was knocked to the ground so hard she got a concussion.

This cannot continue happening. ICE needs to leave.

Yes, it's narrowly good that the Court is going to be inconsistent, but there's no way of holding that firing Cook is unconstitutional that doesn't dispositively undermine "unitary executive" theory
#SCOTUS is likely to do the right thing in the Lisa Cook case.

But it's worth bearing in mind that this idea that the Fed is some bespoke exception to the unitary executive theory is utterly incoherent as a matter of both law and history—and is really just proof that the UET is itself bollocks:
