Feeling a really profound sense of childhood nostalgia. Outside my house I can hear the distinctive call of the Eastern Koel - or storm bird as we call them. It's triggered vivid memories of lying in my childhood bed listening to the birds in the morning.

In the Netherlands, over 40% of rail passengers arrive by bike. Since 2012 the country has invested €400m+ to add 200,000 new bike parking spaces at stations. The result? More rail use, fewer car trips, lower congestion and emissions, better public health - and far more efficient use of urban space.

It’s been over 2 years since the late Peta Murphy’s inquiry into online gambling advertising & how it affects problem gamblers. Since then, Australians have lost $60 billion to gambling.
Australians need a government with the will and the courage to protect them from gambling harms.

So much of our infrastructure, planning, environmental, and road safety measures seem to be based around politicians' fear of slightly inconveniencing easily-angered motorists. Pedestrians, cyclists, and public transport users are barely considered in their calculations.
