Bahahaha, this one from last month is just as bad. Also about a Brisbane hail storm.

People say AI is slop...look at this hyper realistic thumbnail it generated for a video about the SEQ hail storms earlier this week.

I was there day 3. It was glorious.

The Queensland Government found the economic benefit even higher, at $0.67 per kilometre. And the ROI for every $1 of investment in cycling as $5. And yet they still spend less than 1% of the transport budget on cycling.

Good bye GoPro, hello DJI Osmo Action. GoPro served me ok for a decade, but my old Hero 7 has been loved to death, and the competition has since overtaken them. Plus they're a US company so I actively avoid that at the moment (blame Cheetoh Pedo).

Don Furner, lying in his Queanbeyan size bed eyes drooping, about to doze into green dream land when this pops into his head.

Yep. If it's efficiency of a city's transport network, then no matter the power source, cars suck

Yeah, Anthony Cornelius published an interesting graphic of storm intensity which shows the track the worst cell followed. We are in the purple area

Jindalee. We had some cracking damage around.

Doozy of a thunderstorm last night. Result is the kids school is closed because of extensive damage and no power. Reckon in analysis they'll find a microburst occurred in this supercell. The extent of trees down is incredible. We luckily avoided damage.

I see nothing has changed.

See ya soon, Brisbane.

I'm in love with Dutch roundabouts. So much so i went around this one twice. I'd love to see more of these in Brisbane. Well... one would be a start.

Thanks for the opportunity, Madame Tussauds Amsterdam.
October 20, 2025 at 12:30 PM
Normally I'd be really reluctant to try and carry a tray of coffees or a pizza and cycle one handed. But in Amsterdam, with a comfortable upright bike and safe, smooth infrastructure with minimal bumps and stopping/starting, it's easy even for a low skill rider like me.

TFW you use a shared bike for your first ride in the Netherlands, vs TFW you can't return it to where you picked it up so have a long walk home
