Was just reminded that my claim to fame is that I once got an email answered by 'Dear Pelgar,' the Ferengi advice columnist at star trek dot com. Sadly it looks like the Internet Archive does not have copies of the actual letters, so I can't go find it again.

I recently took a 5 week break from work. I thought I'd have more time to post about things I find interesting, but not having work take up so much of my time and brainspace actually significantly lessened my desire to post to or even read bluesky.

I think the most annoying thing about people who insist on a gender binary is that they don't seem to realize that the minimum system allocation size for any variable is 8 bits.

This being done, however, I'm back on my BS making a stupid social media site. Finally got the overly complicated user profile backend working with a form that lets you select some options!

Haven't really posted lately because I've been busy adding to my media collection.
Wrote some scripts to unpack each disc and demux each episode, reencode the video, auto-detect commentary tracks, and package and remux into an MKV file based on JSON files of episode names.

not the main issue here but i'd really appreciate it if democratic politicians spoke out in support of big-city life and culture with the same energy and reverence that all politicians have for small towns
