New folks following me from starter packs, hi! Unfollow if you find me boring. I’m a chronically ill middled-aged grad student & artist in Edmonton. I’m not famous & I’m not especially funny. I don’t have a newsletter but I might post about sickness, vegan snacks, prog rock, or performance art.

1/ Mark Carney has betrayed all of us by making a pipeline pact with Danielle Smith. A real nation-building project would expand the renewable energy of the future while creating thousands of jobs - powerlines not pipelines.

Nice to see someone in the liberal party have principals. Merci M. Guilbeault, c’est fort brave.

All of this and it’s not going to win the liberal party a drop of support in Alberta, and will very likely erode support from progressives nationally. If any progressive still support this liberal-in-name-only PM.
The federal-AB agreement is a love letter to fossil fuels

-cancelation of critical policies (OG emissions cap & clean electricity rules)
-public $$ for a pipeline (via Indigenous loan program)
-more $$ for CCS, incl. enhanced oil production
- only mention of electricity is for fossil fuels

I’m watching a lot of TV while trying to claw out of a symptom flare and I’m seeing ads for the meta AI glasses. The use cases they came up with the advertise their expensive and antisocial product are asking it the weather and to play a song. Things anyone could do with a phone pre-AI.

For a second, I hesitated when I called AI users the laziest people alive this morning because I wondered if I was being too harsh.

Only the federal government can provide the stable, predictable support needed to modernize and expand transit systems across the country, write Sam Hersh and Andrew Pulsifer. www.nationalobserver.com/2025/11/26/o...
Public transit is nation-building. Our federal budget should reflect that
If the federal government truly believes in building communities that work for everyone, it needs to stop treating transit as secondary and start treating it as what it is: vital national infrastructu...

AI. We are going to boil for fucking AI. Are you fucking kidding me? I’m so fucking angry.
Pro-oil spokesperson on CBC says we need more oil pipelines because of the extra energy demands from AI. So Canada is going all-in on destroying the planet. It's a choice. Canada has chosen extinction. The Carney government is officially dead to me.

Canada doesn’t have a failing healthcare system. It has 10 provincial and 3 territorial healthcare systems and at least 8 of them are being maliciously dismantled by corrupt premiers.

I went out walking after my class abd it was -8 and I was fairly unphased. I guess I’m becoming an Alberta guy. Boiled wool makes a huge difference.

This is why OpenAI is selling so aggressively to education at all levels—they want to create entire generations of users incapable of reading, writing and thinking without ChatGPT to hold their hands

And teachers and professors should call this out for what it actually is
To bear out this rosy projection, HSBC assumes that OpenAI will become "as ubiquitous [...] as Microsoft 365" (345mm users worldwide) while bringing in 10x the number of users (3bn).

Any political “leader” still selling the obviously false choice between #ClimateAction and “the economy” is just reminding us that they clearly don’t understand either the climate crisis OR the economy.

Or they’re cynically hope that WE don’t understand the difference.

Or both.

Being able bodied is always a temporary privilege. Whether by age, illness, accident, climate catastrophe, or class exploitation- we will all become disabled.

Disability justice is a struggle for liberation that frees and cares for all of us.

I’m feeling targeted AF. Will tidy a few plants and a few book but the cables will wait and the pottery is still most in moving boxes until we are done building the closets and installing the rest of the shelves.
Twitter accounts are based in Russia. BlueSky accounts are based in homes with, frankly, too many books, plants, obsolete cables, and pieces of rustic pottery, that could do with a bit of a tidying up, to be honest.
